Recommended for kids  Scenic view  Bicycles  Motorcycles  Quads  Off-road vehicles  Medium hike (1km-10km)

Take 248.1-A off of the main Trail to Waldorf. Another Green Ammo Can, Larger than the last.
Like the first one, this cache is off on a side trail that winds up about a half a mile off of Leavenworth Creek Rd on the way to Waldorf and the Santiago ghost town/mine. You will need either a high clearance 4x4 or a good mountain bike to drive up. This one is about half a mile up trail 248.1-A from the main road. We found this side trail and thought it would be a great little side adventure for anyone going up to see the mine. We have placed lots of good loot for kids and a Geo Tag both in this cache and the first one so if you pick it up please track it. Thanks for looking and I hope you enjoy the beautiful scenery on this adventure.

I thought that being Labor Day, I'd sneak up here early in the morning, hoping that everyone one would be headed back today at lunchtime.

I plan on spending the night back in here somewhere and heading back in the morning tomorrow.

First time for me up this road and surprised at how popular this place is.

Anyway, I went to the newest hides first and then whatever I could work in after that.

The start was way to rough for my AVE so I kindof back doored these coming down from the top.

Thanks for a nice sized container to find!

Ah, the reason to come up here! Initially I was planning to ascend Argentine Pass from the east but that was when I thought Leavenworth Creek Road was drivable in a CX-5 (I lost that illusion rather rapidly. My real focus was this cache and it’s twin! Anything else is bonus. Hint was accurate and have to say after hiking up here the only thing going through my mind as I closed in was “stump, stump, stump!”. Great cache, great placement! I have it at 11429 feet using my Bad Elf. Appreciate this one a lot!
