Take 248.1-A off of the main Trail to Waldorf. Cache is in a green ammo can, well hidden but still in plain site. Sorry no good hints for this one.
This cache is off on a side trail that winds up about a half a mile off of Leavenworth Creek Rd on the way to Waldorf and the Santiago ghost town/mine. You will need either a high clearance 4x4 or a good mountain bike to drive up; otherwise it is about a 1/10th of a mile hike up 248.1-A. We found this side trail and thought it would be a great little side adventure for anyone going up to see the mine. We have placed lots of good loot for kids and a Geo Tag both in this cache and the next one up the trail a ways so if you pick it up please track it. Thanks for looking and I hope you enjoy the beautiful scenery on this adventure.

This is where I turned around, because I am not even going down that.

Thanks for a fun set of containers to hunt for!

We headed out of town on my Friday day off to do a little 4x4 exploring up towards Argentine pass, and then see Il Travatore at Central City Opera.

That first pitch up from Guanella Pass road is pretty rough. The rest of the trail had its spots, but was usually easier.

After having a picnic lunch at https://coord.info/GC14DYB (Waldorf's Detour), we backtracked to the main road. Good thing. That road coming up, and the one up to this cache, are really nasty.

This was my minimal target. I really wanted to get to Waldorf and maybe beyond, but we needed to get to Central City, so we turned around.

Signed the log KAJW. Took nothing. Left nothing. Thanks for the cache!

Ok, I did 2 first and now 1. Hey, I was on the lower trails and didn’t want to go off trail till I had to. My thought the entire time was “Rock, rock” but no ready joy at first till I expanded my search and thought a little. Appreciate this one too! Altitude for those interested is 11324 according to my Bad Elf receiver.

This cache and Miranda #2 were my main objectives today. I parked at the pullout by Where's Waldorf cache and got in a great hike. Thanks to jeepjeepClan for placing and maintaining these excellent caches with great swag! IN - a logoed thumb drive in a leather case OUT - nothing TFTH!!!
