There is a lot of history surrounding these mountains and up here on Bald Mountain, which is located in Gilpin County.   The people who lived here came here mostly to work in the mines.   Around the corner to the right is Bald Mountain Cemetery.  A very quiet and peaceful place where many died at an early age from mining accidents or epidemics that came to these little towns where the conditions were not ideal for maintaining public health.   Our family has four generations of ancestors who are buried in this cemetery, dating back to 1896.

Day 3 of 3 days in the mountains finding caches, checking on our caches, gambling and even hiding 2 caches. We were lucky - it was supposed to rain starting about noon but held off until we were almost home. Took the TB to move it along.

I decided to head for the hills around Central City for some caching today. I made the find here at 9:31 am. Thanks for the cache! I left a travel bug in this cache.
