The Cline Ranch developed in the 1920s under the direction of Denver attorney Foster Cline who purchased the ranch as a vacation getaway for him and his family. The main ranch house was constructed in 1928 and was usually leased to the ranch manager, but the Cline family did stay there on occasion. The design of the house is unique for South Park with its Pueblo Revival style, but lost much of its character when a gable roof was added in the 1980s. Today, the ranch is owned by Park County and managed as the Cline Ranch State Wildlife Area, primarily for trout fishing and hunting purposes.

The Cline Ranch is located right off highway 285 between Jefferson and Como and is easy to spot thanks to the large ranch house in the distance. Please park in the grassy area at the front of the driveway by the stone monument. Parking further down the driveway is reserved for anglers using Tarryall Creek.

Quiet spot on a rainy Sunday afternoon. We appreciate the recent cache maintenance; we were first to sign the new log and the code was on both log and container. Took a geocoin to move it to a new cache.

Grabbed on our way looking for the entire series. Thanks for the history lesson. I look at this place every time I come through fishing and always wondered about it's stories and significance.
