Wilderness -- "an area where the earth and its community of life are untrammeled by man, where man himself is a visitor who does not remain ... an area protected and managed so as to preserve its natural conditions." —The Wilderness Act of 1964

This is the 50th anniversary year of the enactment of The Wilderness Act, an especially noteworthy event!

The cache is a 1-quart container hidden fairly close to the Never Summer Wilderness boundary sign. It's placed in a way that should make it easy to locate. Snow cover, however, can make finding it very difficult. The access follows a high clearance 4-wheel drive "road" to the Silver Creek Trailhead and a modest hike from that point. In lieu of such a vehicle, a relatively long hike is necessary. When I placed the cache, I made the long hike and enjoyed it greatly! The area has spectacular views of the Never Summer peaks aligned along the western edge of Rocky Mountain National Park; these marvelous mountains are seen most advantageously while hiking. The terrain rating assumes a hiking approach. Enjoy this special area and the cache!!

FTF, I always love your caches, they take me to places I have never been, but should go. I was able to drive within 2.5 miles, but the road kept getting worse and I didn't feel like pushing it, so I settled for a nice hike with all the wildflowers out, there were a few places it was difficult to find a good stream crossing. Very neat place and TFTC!
