This is a 4 stage multi cache that will take a good portion of the day.
My son and I set this cache on the opening day of deer season. We encountered plenty of men in orange wielding large guns. I was glad to have an orange rain fly for my pack, that I quickly put on as I saw the first orange where we parked. So here I go with a dog, wearing a bear bell, and an 8 year old boy, who is by no means quiet. Needless to say I am very surprised that no one shot at us for so being loud. Thus the name of the cache.

Now for the good stuff. We parked at N 38 58.344 W 105 28.631and went straight up.

The way points are all home made PVC canisters wrapped in cammo tape and hanging from a cord.

The first way point is found in the saddle hanging from a tree.

The second way point is found up a lone tree on a point.

The third way point in found, dangling, in a crack of a large rock.

The final cache is an ammo can found in the belly of a log.

I need to apologize if the coordinates are a bit off. the best my GPS would do was +/- 16 feet on this day. frustrating considering how open it was.

If you go in the fall wear your orange.

We hiked up more than 2000 feet, 4.5 miles and it took us 4.5 hours. There is no trail up to this one. Have fun:)

Had to laugh at the cache page - you're gutsier than I am to go out bushwhacking on opening day! I didn't have any cord to reattach the first waypoint, but it is in a safe spot, although perhaps not very snow friendly... Thanks for a nice hike and cache, I liked all the WPs.

Loved finding the cache! Beautiful views. Wish there was more snow to use the new snowshoes, but a great hike nonetheless!

There were a couple moments on this one where I was not so sure if we were going to complete it. After a long night the evening before I still managed to get my gear together, find some coffee, and get in the car. Of course that one thing I forgot to grab was extra batteries, and my gps died immediately at the parking coords. Luckily there was a few of us, so a couple other units were used while I had fun navigating by landmark and topo.

Bushwhacking 5 miles through the snow and dead fall with these elevation gains made for perhaps the toughest five miles we have ever done. The hangover was of absolutely no help, thanks to team TBVO for letting me sleep on the ride back.

Wanted to give this one a try before hunting season and today was a good day. This was a very nice multi-cache and I really enjoyed the challenge. The cord that was holding the 1st stage was gone and the PVC canister was laying on the ground by a tree, so I put a rock in front of it. It should be OK. I had to search awhile for #3, but finally found it hanging right where it should be. Anyway everything else is in good shape. I saw absolutely no one all day after I left the pavement...very nice! TNLN and happily signed the logbook. Thanks for the fun!

WOW that's all I can say. started way to late about 3p.m. Cacheing with my son(28), his wife (29), and their german shep dog (9). Had trouble finding the parking lot Kiss Ass Ranch. On the way I told them this looks tuff, but we had just come from Taddy, so they were gung ho. Straight up! is a nice way to put it.
Found the 1st cache by 5p.m. found the second by 6p.m.. didn't want to walk through the forest at night, never to be seen again, so decided to go back to the car. My son just got out of the army corps of engines where he earned Sappers rank, and he was having a hard time with the terrain. his wife vomited at the 2nd cache site (too hot?), I'm 54 and not fit but did o.k., We were so happy to see that car! (7p.m.) Got the cords to the 3rd cache so I'll plan another trip and go for it another time. got back to the rental cabin and could'nt stop talking about our adventure. the fishing was great this weekend at the mile.
Tips: go early, plan it for the day, take bug spray in the summer, plenty of water, don't wear tennis shoes, pepper spray ( bears, lions)??? we all figured that the final cache is the burial silt of the 8 year old!
