Very steep climb. My son decided to stay behind. According to the coordinates given to me by the State Forest folks, I was within feet but I never saw a cave. Reading through the comments here for the first time, someone gave the coordinates where they found the cave. Next time we will find it!

We found it, sort of. The last part where you have to climb up through steep, loose dirt we did not do for fear of wounding ourselves but we definitely came close. It is high but that didn't bother me as much as the footing getting up there and back. I'm just not as young as I used to be and don't heal as fast. Great spot for a geocache though!

A nice hike up to this one and on past it to Agnes. Grabbed this one on the way down and used the last couple of finders directions and coordinates. Cheers!

We found this one..after we went the wrong way. This Cache is really easy to find once you get your bearings. The cave is high up and people with a fear of heights might not like it, but it was fun to find. Of course there were some treasures inside, along with some trash and someone cleaning out their wallet, but still a great find. It's worth it to keep walking right up to Lake Agnes as well! Beautiful scenery, lots of birds, deer and chipmunks.

The coordinates on this site and on the pamphlet from the state parks service are very wrong! On the way to the coordinates, we crossed a bridge over all the snow melt runoff and then kept walking and because of the way the trail curved, our heads weren't even turned in the direction of the cave. We continued on the path toward American Lakes to the spot where GPS said the cache was. We wandered into the forest up an extremely steep grade for a long time, wandering around not seeing anything like a cave. We gave up after about 45 minutes and started the hike back. When we came to that bridge again, we saw the cave because we were facing the other way. We decided to go explore - it's a short way up but remarkably steep. Even our dog kept sliding down a bit before regaining his footing. But there was the cache in the cave. The coordinates our device logged when we got there are N 40 29.1943 W 105 54.1096. Nice hike despite the misleading. We went to Lake Agnes afterward, which is a very short walk away.
