I’m the final angle of “a cute” triangle of caches. Oh, sorry, I meant that I’m a member of an “Acute Triangle” of caches. Yep, even though my Owner earlier tried to make me an angle of an Equilateral Triangle (and when that didn’t work, he tried me out as an angle of an Isosceles Triangle), these didn’t have appropriate angle configurations. And I’m not a participant in Scalene or Right-angle Triangles either. I’m just fit for a cute one. You see, the mountain I’m located on isn’t in the correct position relative to the other two caches for anything but an angle in an Acute Triangle, so I’m simply cute.

Let me explain: I’m located at the top of Pierson Mountain. I overlook Homestead Meadows. So do two other marvelous caches (that makes three marvelous ones, including me!). The others are The Lion’s Den (GC1CY46) and Homestead Overlook (GCQGE8). They’ve been in position for a long time. When I was placed, the straight line of two caches overlooking Homestead Meadows instantly became a triangle of three caches having this extraordinary view. I'm the special cache of the three due to my commanding position. I’m higher than my two partners in this troika. So I can see my surroundings better. And what vistas I have–the Twin Sisters are plastered on my Facebook Wall to my west. So are Longs and Meeker Peaks. And Kruger Rock rises to my north and Kenny Mountain to my east. And I can see House Rock, and Wild Basin, and.... oh, and I look down on Pierson Park and Homestead Meadows and all those old homesteads scattered about down there.

Hey, you can see all this stuff too, if you come for a visit to this cute triangle. Take all three of us in and score some bragging rights. And you can sign three backcountry logs in one day’s outing! Three mountain treasures! And me? I’m an easy find once you get up here. Sign the Pierson Mountain summit register and then come find me. I’m a “Regular”-sized cache and I’m hidden some distance away from the actual highpoint. I’m tucked under a rock overhang, and I’m hidden by a couple of sticks. Just search around, and you’ll snag me. Sign my log, and feel fulfilled!

Hide me properly when you’re done. I’d hate to become muggled. Then this cute triangle of caches would become a straight line of caches again, and that’s not much to look at or brag about.

I had some doubts about the weather this morning. The wind was blowing and rain was falling as I left my house near Lyons, and the roads were moist all the way to Estes and then south on Fish Creek Road and Little Valley Road. I was in a foggy mist as I rode my bike from the FR119 locked gate. after a couple miles of biking, I decided to hoof it from the "trail" sign on the south slope of Pierson Mountain. About half-way up from where I stashed my bike, I felt sunshine as I climbed up and out of the clouds. The sun dominated from that point on.
I ended up finding all three of the cute triangle caches, but I needed the D/T combination of this one, so I opted to find it first. Coordinates were perfect and I was able to find it in a hurry so that I could continue to the others. I was surprised to find that I had good cell phone reception up here, so I sent a quick text to my wife and headed for Lion Head.
I really enjoyed the solitude of this hike along with the challenge of finding my way to all three caches, and then back to my bike ...and then back to my Jeep. Thanks Denali41, for placing this cache. It was a big part of a great day!

Well the triangle hasn't been visited by a cacher since June 2011. I figured that was way too long and I decided these three caches deserved to be logged again. I headed up to Estes this morning from my home in Loveland and made my way south to the locked Forest Service gate on Road 119. Threw on the pack, grabbed the trekking poles and headed up the road. Soon I reached the point where I left the road and headed east for the north ridge of Pierson Mountain. I eventually made it to the ridge and then headed south up to the peak. Soon I was at GZ and a quick find of "A Cute Triangle" was made. I signed my name in the second to find position below kipster11's FTF. The container was slightly ajar but the log was dry. After signing the log I put it back in its hiding spot and secured it with a rock and a couple dead branches. The peak is forested so unfortunately there wasn't much of a view. Ate a sandwich and then headed back down the ridge to the saddle between Pierson and Lion Head, on my way to "The Lion's Den". Thanks Denali41 for this wonderful backcountry cache!!

Ya (FTF) ! This was one of 4 finds for the day. I biked until I couldn't anymore. Then I hiked up to this cache. I then hiked the rest of the triangle. Tftc!

A response from Tee to Tahosa!

"Thanks for your cache page note and for the hot link. That song is one of my favs (the Loreena McKennitt piece) because I'm so often forced to "live" with it when I'm with Daddy and he's playing it on those darned speakers. And it was one of Denali Queen's all-time favorites, too. You may not have known that... Perhaps some day you'll hike up A Cute Triangle with me. From there, you can look down at your great cache X9416. It's way below my cute one, but your cache is really special. So are your caches in the Homestead Meadows area that can be seen from A Cute Triangle. Pretty special stuff for cachers! Thanks for them!"

Yes, "Tee" is Denali41's "my puppy Teewinot". She's become a favorite of a lot of local cachers who have gotten to know here. And she's featured in many cache find notes. She deserves all the raves.
