Exploring the mines in the area and saw the flag on top of the mountain, so I thought there needed to be a cache here. The cache is large .50 cal ammo can located about 50ft from the summit under some rocks

Was up in the area for the 4x4 event and came out this way for a little ride and hike. Thanks for the cache. Continued up Chrysolite after the find.

The Mary Murphy Mining area is a very interesting place to visit, but being the first to find a cache that was placed two years ago was a real bonus. We searched for quite a while through the multitude of rocks when WingsAndTales suddenly startled me by yelling out "can!" It was a very large can (thank you for that). Fun drive up there on county road 297 :-) Excellent spot for a cache. Thanks!

I couldn't believe there was a cache in an area like this that had gone so long without a FTF. We saw other Jeeps, ATVs and dirt bikes but they were all headed for the lakes. After a drive in her Jeep to the upper part of the Mary Murphy mine we hiked to the cache on the summit and then over to this one. I think it took us about 10 minutes or so to track down the cache. The coords were good but there are a lot of places to look. We will have to come back and explore the road to Iron Chest Mine on foot since that didn't look like one we wanted to drive. TFTC

Hiking Chrysolite today and exploring the mines. Noticed a familiar name for the CO of this cache...haha. That meant that I had to come try for the FTF. Sadly, no joy here today. There were more people on their way up to the flag, so that didn't give me much time. Flipped as many rocks in piles as I could but didn't see it. Probably still there, I would just need a little more time to get it (rocks kind of kill me Smile). Thanks for the reason to come over to this awesome summit!
