Smaug is hiding a vast treasure but just like Thorin and his men you are going to have to solve a puzzle to gain access. Be careful not to wake him from his slumber!!

To gain entrance you will need to unlock the secret gate using the magic code described below

Smaug the mighty IS at the posted coordinates. But to access his stash you are going to have to solve a puzzle by answering some deep Tolkien mythology related trivia. If you're not a Tolkien expert then you will need to do some extensive online research before traveling to GZ. The questions below span the entirety of Tolkien’s mythology and not just the recent movies.

Please don't move Smaug or take him out of his resting place. Instead you can access his treasure gently without waking him. Please put him back exactly as you found him. CO cannot be responsible for Smaug eating any small pets ... or children .... if he is woken! Please lock the secret gate when you are finished so Smaug can't escape.

To get the magic code to the secret gate solve the following puzzle

A) How many houses of the Edain were there?

B) How many Silmarils were cut from Morgoth's crown by Beren?

C) How many greater powers of Arda were there including Melkor?

D) How many caves were there in Menegroth?

E) In what century of the 3rd age did Gondor grant a province to the Rohirrim?

F) How many great lamps were forged to light Arda?

G) On what day in September did Bilbo first reach lake-town after escaping from the elven-king's halls?

H) How many concentric city walls defend the tower of the setting sun?

I) How many of the fellowship travelled from Rauros to Fangorn to look for Merry and Pippin?

To access: D-G-H-F-E-C-A-B-I

Have fun, and don't wake the dragon!!

After a long day, I came over here with the intentions of signing the log. I didn't have the exact info needed, but know that I was close. At the GZ, I quickly found the container and worked until I had the right info. Signed the log and hurried along. Tftc!

A bit of an awkward spot for me to balance myself bu I had someone with me today and she was able to assist with the retrieval. So nice to be out when it is warm and not windy
