Today was (finally) the day I targeted the “chicken” series of caches above Georgetown. My puppies Orizaba and Chimborazo had been bugging me for several days, reminding me with their pleading eyes that it had been too long since I’d taken them out for any decent hike in the mountains. So I considered options and decided to begin our day of adventures on this nice trail system before heading to some other hiking destinations. We drove down from Wellington early, encountering essentially no traffic through the Denver metro area as we drove south and then west toward Georgetown and the beginning of our hiking adventures. Once on the trail, it took a bit of trial and error to always be taking the correct route at the several junction points. But we were pretty efficient with the decisions and soon worked our way up to the jewel of the hike–the D 5.0/T 5.0 cache at the turn-around point. We scored on all seven of the chicken delicacies that we tried for, and were nicely sated by the time we turned to head down. Thanks for contributing to this great series of caches with the replacement cache!!

I found this one while hiking with Nickgatt, Barasaur and his geohound Lucy, MemfisMafia, and my geouhound Cuervo. Our goal for the day was to find the 5D5T cache on the mountain. TFTC SL.

A beautiful day to be out in the mountains! I joined Nickgatt, Killian33 + Cuervo, Barasaur + Lucy and Memfis Mafia on a nice hike up the Chicago Lakes Trail to pick up the Chicken caches and the always elusive 5X5 traditional cache. Our CO had difficulty remembering this hide, but we made quick work of it. Cheers!

Thanks for the cache. This was part of a group hike that culminated with a 5x5 smiley. Thanks. The cache was in good shape.

Met Memfis Mafia, Killian33, nickgatt, and Youkfish in Guanella Pass to hike and get the Chicken Series and a 5x5 at the end. This trail / no trail is STRAIGHT up. The GeoDogs, Lucy and Cuervo, made it look easy while we all slowly pawed our way up the hill. YES, pun was intended.
Thanks for the caches and the GREAT friends to make this such an amazing and great day out in our Colorado Mountains. I think I am going to go to bed now, I'm tired.
