Day 2 back in here and I just hiked over from my camp site.

The stream was running pretty good for this late in the year and so close to where it starts.

Just moved one rock and across I go.

Thanks for a nice sized container to find!

No driving across that water with the Montero so we "built" a bit of a crossing so we did't get our feet wet as the water was plenty deep & fast. It worked!

Had a great time hiking in the area today. Left the Prius on the blacktop at the beginning of the trail @ 39 41.010 W 105 42.193. Ended up wtih 11.75 miles and 2467 feet elevation gain. Beautiful day - with not a cloud in the sky! Thanks! I kept wandering cross country to leap frog between the two main roads. When I was going to "over the river" I started to cross the creek in the willows - and then saw a cool old foot bridge about 50 feet downstream. That was totally awesome. Loved seeing all the old mining relics. Got my feet pretty wet on all the river crossings - but I noticed that the creek running through Golden has really gotten mellow - so figured it was a good time to attempt the creek crossings. I turned around at the 2nd Miranda cache and I had hiked 6.6 miles. I got back down a lot quicker - guess it was all down hill on the way back! On the way back I found a few smalll trails that I used to shortcut. Saw maybe six vehicles all day, and one woman backpacker heading up as I was almost to the car. 11:14:00 AM%

now that's a cache! 50 cal WIDE! no micro BS in the woods like the other caches up here. QUALITY HUGE AMMO CANS that can hold a bunch of stuff. Used headlights and flashlights to find this one as it was totally dark. Thanks a bunch for a real cache!
