Fun little peak!

I have wanted to come up here for a long time. Fall has been kind to us so far but it looks like that will change soon and I didn't want to pass up an opportunity to get up here. There is a 3 foot stick in the rocks near GZ and I spent a while looking near there with no luck. I finally looked up at summit where a bunch of sticks are standing out of the rocks and spotted a peanut butter jar next to the sticks. It was attached to one of the sticks with wire. Sure enough it had the original log that ernie66 and estes01 put in the new container. Someone must have moved it thinking it was the summit log. I didn't see the PVC one but it may have been down in the rocks.
I debated where to leave it and decided I should just leave it there. My reasoning was that if it got moved once it was likely to get moved again. At least this way no one would assume it is trash and remove it. Now that my brain has a little more oxygen I think I should have put it back at GZ but it's too late. There is plenty of room on the log sheet so it shouldn't be a problem for quite a while. As you say this is a rarely visited peak.
Thanks to WolfgangStiller for placing this cache. I love visiting places like this and wish more people took the time and energy to seek them as well. TFTC

I don't take these DNF personal. The summit was almost under 2 feet of fresh powder, and every crack between a rock was covered or stuffed with snow. I looked and looked, but today I can up empty handed.
But I still scored a 13,749 ft winter summit, and that is really all that mattered to me. I had the entire summit to myself in the beautiful day. I'll most likely stop by next summer and give it another shot.
Thanks for the awesome excuse to get outside today.

After we found the cache, we dropped off the peak and continued on our way towards Horseshoe Mountain. We looked back. To our surprise, we saw the profile of someone bending over where the cache was. As we were making the drop off the slope towards Weston Pass on our return, we caught up the other cacher. It was COpackrat. It was fun to meet you High in Colorado today.
