***Update 24 April 2012*** Cache is now a decon kit.

***No longer a**** Ammo Can hidden in the woods.
***New Description***
Cache disappeared and I couldn't find any remnants of the ammo can or rope/device that I used to suspend it in the tree. So, I replaced it with a run of the mill decon kit. It's attached with a velcro strap, so if you remove it, please place it back in the same spot so it stays hidden from the trail.

***Old Description***

This is a great trail to go hiking with some friends on an afternoon. You maybe able to see this cache from the trail. This cache should be able accessible in all weather conditions. (hint-hint) Enjoy your hike.

To access this cache, I recommend parking on Old Carriage Road and walking up past the Reservoirs.

Congrats to Hartsdale for FTF!

Found it hanging around. There is actually a good log book to sign.

Grrr, the clue led me astray since I found the cache on the ground about 30' downslope from GZ. The orange part was still attached, so I placed it back at eye level, at GZ, but facing away from the trail.

If I recall, the log book is near full, so next cacher should bring a spare. Cool airforce bands, but I had no swag to trade.

It was a beautiful morning for a hike, so we decided to explore the scenic trails west of Palmer Lake. We hiked up from the lower reservoir to get the Sundance Mountain cache first, then continued west aong the "Backwoods Trail" until we got to the the Bearing Tree cache. We didn't go after the Backwoods #1 cache since it had a few recent DNFs by experienced cachers. The trails were snowpacked and icy so we were thankful that we had brought along our trekking poles. All containers and logs were in great shape. Thanks to all the COs for placing and maintaining these caches.
