This is a great trail to go out for an afternoon hike- I hid a few caches along with way with my cousin. This cache is just off the trail and should be an easy grab. Please recover as you found it.

To access this cache, I recommend parking on Old Carriage Road and walking up past the Reservoirs.

Congrats to Hartsdale for FTF!

What a nice hiding spot! I can't believe I just found 3 huge ammocans in a row!! I can't tell if I'm giddy from elevation or the amazing geocaches in this park!! Alas, I had no swag to trade for that cool coffee mug, so took nothing and trudged on up the trail. The trail is eroding in places from the recent rain, so it might be nice to organize a volunteer repair crew to keep it in good shape.

It was a beautiful morning for a hike, so we decided to explore the scenic trails west of Palmer Lake. We hiked up from the lower reservoir to get the Sundance Mountain cache first, then continued west aong the "Backwoods Trail" until we got to the the Bearing Tree cache. We didn't go after the Backwoods #1 cache since it had a few recent DNFs by experienced cachers. The trails were snowpacked and icy so we were thankful that we had brought along our trekking poles. All containers and logs were in great shape. Thanks to all the COs for placing and maintaining these caches.

Ooooohhhh! A box full of presents! Which reminds me: Christmas is only (exactly!) FOUR MONTHS FROM TODAY! Aaaaauuuugggghhh!

Good thing there's not even a hint of winter in the breeze today. TFTC!
