Scenic view  Cliff / falling rocks  Motorcycles  Quads  Seasonal Access

Fred is hiding a little ways off of the Garber Trail also known as trail 686. There is a great view right at the cache. This cache does not require any difficult climbing so if you feel you need to, you are off track. This trail is popular for off road motorcycles so be on the lookout for them. There won't be any in the immediate vicinity of the cache since it is off trail a ways. In fact, when I hid this cache on a beautiful Friday, I saw no one else at all on this trail. A weekend would no doubt be different. This cache is a twin to Ethel hidden not too far away.

The road that gets you to this area is usually closed by December 1st and not open until April 1st at the earliest.

Fred gave me and Shorty a fit! I spent a good 15 minutes wandering in circles. Finally I sat down and read about no climbing involved, and then I spotted it out of the corner of my eye! Great spot for shade and to get a drink if water before we keep moving on for Ethel and the TM. Stamped our name, thanks Cajrrman! TFTC!

Teamed up with my good friend "animjason" for the first time in almost two months - we had a fine time hiking and finding geocaches - this was the first of four. TN-LN-SL. Thanks !

First grab of the day with Bhob. No BearAdair today :( she is having a mommy date. Dropped a trackable.

Thanks cajrrman! Logged Fred from a ninth galaxy using c:geo!

Recommend not following Lostindenver tracks. Also recommend doing first and not on the way back which made it a bit harder....
Thanks cajrrman for Fred

This was a nice hike out and back this morning and I was back home by 8:30.

From all the tracks around the area it was quite a search last night, but in the daylight it was a piece of .

Thanks for another fun cache to hunt for!

[FTF] 05-30-2020 at 12:07 am. Sounds crazy, but I'm on a mission to fill my calendar with FTF's each day of the year. Not every year, but black out the calendar. So I saw these caches publish and decided to give them a shot. I doubted that anyone would be crazy enough to head to Rampart Range at 11:00 pm, but who knows? After about an hour of rumbling down the road I arrived at the appropriate parking spot and turned off the Jeep. Complete blackness up here. Stars in the sky. Period. I headed down the trail with my flashlight, a pen, and my stamp. The hike is cool and quiet. No one is out here tonight. I neared the GZ and followed the waypoint to leave the trail. That is where easy stopped. Somehow I add difficulty to Cajrrman caches by trying to find them at night or during inclemete weather. I took the hard way, which is SCARY at night. Be careful. My only advice to future finders is this: If the terrain seems too difficult for a 2 terrain cache, it is. Coords are bouncy as usual in the mountains. Stick with the hint. I returned to my senses and then made the find. Sweaty, a little tired, why not go for the next one?
Thanks for the cache!
