This is the 36th in my series of Trail Mix caches all made out of Trail Mix jars.

The hike to this cache should begin at the trailhead for the Garber Trail - trail 686. Note that there are two Garber trailheads so use the waypoint for the correct one. Near the trailhead you will see trail 686A and it connects with trail 686 at the trailhead and also a little ways past this cache. It would make a nice loop for your hike. 686A is steeper so if you want to make the loop easier, use 686A first.

There are waypoints you can use for parking and for a good spot to leave the trail. Once you leave the trail, stay on top of the ridge and you should have no trouble getting to where the cache is. If you get into dicey territory, you did not pick the easiest way.

When I hide one of these trail mix caches, I try to find a nice view and some rock formations after a hike and this hide is exactly that.

Since you will be off trail, make sure you let someone know where you are going and when you plan to be back.

When I hid this cache on a Friday in late May, I saw no one else on the trail at all. However, this is a popular area for off road motorcycling so be on the lookout for them. You are quite likely to encounter them on a weekend for sure.

The road that gets you to this area is usually closed by December 1st and not open until April 1st at the earliest.

It would be great if you posted a photo from the area!

Another day, another couple of Trail Mixes go down. Today I had help from my trusty Geodog Shorty, who is always up for a good Trail Mix hike or two. Much like the last one, we proceeded to make things harder than it should be, and approached from below. After we picked our way up through the big boulder field, we sat down in a shady spot up top to rest and have some water. I then began my search which took a little longer than it should but perseverance and determination paid off for the smiley! I stamped my name, snapped a few pics, and Shorty and I headed back to car tired but satisfied! On the way back Shorty and I came across a mama dusky Grouse with her newborn babies! Only 5 Trail Mixes remain for us to find! TFTC!

Teamed up with my good friend "animjason" for the first time in almost two months - we had a fine time hiking and finding geocaches - this was the third of four. TN-LN-SL. Thanks !

FTF!

Of course this one was my target cache.

Went to this one first and had a nice cool quiet hike except for a few of Hummingbirds darting around.

Great views from looking out over the edge.

Thanks for the exercise and a nice size container to find!
