This is a puzzle cache. The physical cache is not at the above listed coordinates. In order to locate the cache you must decipher the true coordinates from the puzzle below. Good luck.

This is one of fourteen caches that make up the Western Sky portion of the Path of the Zodiac series of caches. Thirteen of the caches composing this portion represent the thirteen constellations that occupies the ecliptic that defines the Western Zodiac. The fourteenth cache, Path of the Zodiac: The Western Sky, can only be located after the initial thirteen caches in the portion have been located and the clues they contain gathered. The order in which these thirteen caches are found does not matter, but finding all of them is a requirement to seek out and log the fourteenth cache.

The constellation of Serpentarius represents the healer Asclepius. Asclepius learned the secret of curing death itself by watching a snake provide another with healing herbs. With these herbs, Asclepius could prevent anyone from being taken by death, thereby making humans almost as immortal as the Gods. Fearful of this, Zeus struck down Asclepius before he could share his knowledge, but raised him into the heavens to reward his past good works.
Unlike the Riddle of Death Asclepius solved, deciphering the Riddle of Serpentarius should hopefully not result in punishment from the gods being meted out.

RIDDLE OF SERPENTARIUS

When you find the cache remember to record the clue contained inside the container. You'll need it if you are looking to complete the full series.

Outside of providing a coordinate checker for each puzzle, I will not give personal help, hints, etcetera until the whole of the Path of the Zodiac series have been completed by a few cachers. It's the only fair way to do it as completing this series should be considered something of an accomplishment and making it to the end should go to those who make it there on their own devices. Cachers that have worked out a puzzle are discouraged from giving much away if asked for help in order to keep up the level of challenge provided by this series.

We were hoping to find 3 or 4 more of these puzzles today but unfortunately, we spent more than a half hour looking for this one and the heat finally won. All of the other finds have had a certain rhythm and we applied it to this one, also. Unfortunately, even though our GPS said 5 feet, I think it wasn't where we expected it to be. We did some searching in a few other places but we were ready to throw in the towel.

I loved the puzzle. Fortunately, we may have a chance to return and have heard from a previous finder that we might have been too specific in our location. Next time, we will try to arrive much earlier in the day (i.e. not noon!), although the forecast for the possible times we can look all have 90+ heat. Sadly, I think the entire set of these might be out of our grasp, but we will try to log a few more before heading back to Oregon. TFTC

Out of the south-side and headed to the mainline. I get to GZ and I've miss entered the numbers, damn!! Ok, after checking a few things I looked at the puzzle again and field solved it (yes, I remembered the coding and did a quick field solve. Doing that I was off to the cache and found it quickly. TFTC, feeling better with each cache.
