Hi - I made a Mt Herman Rd run during a visit about a month ago … can't resurrect the actual proper date. It was cool, windless, pretty heavy overcast. I'd had less-than-optimal internet access during the stay, but rounded up a collection of targets w/ > or = 2 Diff. Succeeded on all I tried! Thanks, CO's !!
The opposite of ignore !! ?? I squared the crosshairs on this one as soon as I stumbled across it while browsing the GC.com map. I knew I had more than enough on hand to tackle a cache that none other than Climbstuff and The K2 Man himself had deemed an actual Pike's Peak area T5.
Ignore !!?? Huh. Had To.
Like so many before … I contemplated the "squeeze-through" final approach; but I could really, REALLY see myself getting wedged on the return effort... and that seemed like a potential long night !
So I eventually went back up … & down again on the proper side.
Happy to get to move it to my 'Watch' list !!

Not on my ignore list!!! I've had my eye on this one since I started caching! Equipment, time, trusting partner all held me back. Finally I broke down and purchased some equipment yesterday and I made a first attempt. It was raining cats and dogs and there was just no way. Today it was dry and sunny to start, but the clouds and thunder kept me pushing on. Finally at the GZ there really is only one way up. Not too bad if you have the leg length and a bit of mt. goat in ya. At one point I really started to question my sanity but made it to the top. The view is outstanding!!! After checking the compass I spotted where I needed to go. Strapped in I made the decent down slowly. Then I was on the hunt. One last obstacle that I barely made it through. Yes!!! Ammo can!!! Signed the log and replaced as found. All is well here! Now back through that last obstacle. Shredded my shirt... Oh well... Minor sacrifice... OK... The part I've been dreading... Anchored in I tightened the rope and made the tough climb up. I wish I had bigger rope or different equipment. No such luck. Hand over hand on 3/8" rope back up! Took a minute to catch my breath... Now to get us off this crazy rock! Going down is always harder. Back on solid ground I took another minute to catch my breath as I felt the rain drops start up. Back to the car! What an adventure! Loved it! Favorite!

RPieperco messaged me and told me he'd gotten some good Intel on this cache and asked if I wanted to try it. First attempt was rained out yesterday. Today we saw the clouds building but hoped it'd hold out long enough. The way up started out fairly doable and quickly turned into I need longer legs! I kept asking how Copackrat did this and pushed through with a lot of encouragement from Rick and finally reaching the top. Once I was up there his job began. I became the anchor and he went where no sane person would go. Well, unless you are a cacher and there is a cache there. I guess that begs the question then are cachers sane? After a moment I heard the sweetest sound in the world, an ammo can on rocks. The thunder was rolling and at one point my hair started getting static. I was anxious to get back down where I wasn't the tallest thing around. In good weather it would've been fun to just hang out and enjoy the victory for a bit. Well outside my normal comfort zone but with an amazing caching buddy I knew I could do it. Awesome caching adventure!

I scrambled around the entire GZ to no avail. Up top, down low, read the logs for intel all to no avail. I understand what the cache is but was not able to find it. I did enjoy the scrambling though and got some great photos!

Found during a fun day of adventure, with animjason and friends.
The climb was so much fun I actually enjoyed being the small person on this one, it made climbing much easier. If I could give a favorite I would give it one thank you for a wonderful morning of fun and adventure!!

Sleuthers and I tried this one a long time ago, but were unprepared. We came back today better prepared - and brought some friends along! A great cache in a great spot. And then my phone rang and had to drive all the way to Craig, Colorado this afternoon. Doh! TFTC!!
