The cache is located in Devils Canyon, part of the 'Black Ridge Canyons Wilderness'..... It's an ammo box placed in a big rock just off of the trail.

The hike from the trail head to the cache covers about two miles one way. The Devils Canyon trail is a loop about five miles long; it's a fairly well defined trail with some elevation changes and is accessible year 'round. The beginning of the trail is used by locals and their dogs but as you get farther into the canyon the foot traffic slows considerably.

Visit the kiosk just past the trailhead or this BLM website http://www.blm.gov/co/st/en/fo/mcnca/recreation/wilderness.html for information on the wilderness area and the trail system that runs through it.
There is a large parking area with public restrooms close to the trail head.

Got to the top of the trail about two miles from the trailhead, and my GPS was telling me the cache was only about 500 feet away -- on the other side of the canyon. If I had looked more carefully at the map, I would have seen which way to go when the trail splits! Dummy me! Oh, well! It gives me a good excuse to get out there again soon.
