2018 HOLIDAY PARTY!

Geocaching Colorado presents the 2018 Holiday Party! Join us on December 9th from 1:00pm - 4:00pm in the Master Event Hall at the Castle Pines Library.

We will be having: GIFT EXCHANGE, BISON TUBE CHRISTMAS TREE, UGLY SWEATER CONTEST, CHOOSE YOUR OWN RAFFLE, and a POTLUCK.
Participation in any of these events is optional, and not required.

GIFT EXCHANGE: We will be having TWO gift exchanges! You bring a wrapped (or unwrapped) gift valued between $5 and $10. You will be given a claim ticket when you drop your gift off. Once all gifts have been dropped off, then we will call up everyone with a claim ticket to come grab a different gift. Gifts should be geocaching related, but this isn't required. Did we mention two gift exchanges??? One is for the adults, but we'll also have a youth gift exchange table as well! These gifts don't need to be geocaching related, kids LOVE toys!

BISON TUBE CHRISTMAS TREE: This has been a very popular activity every Holiday Party, so we are keeping it going! How does it work? We will have a Christmas tree filled with 50 bison tubes. Each bison tube has a special treat inside. You pay $5, and pick one off of the tree. You keep the bison tube, and whatever surprise is inside. Every bison tube will be worth its money, or more! What could you possibly win??? Five raffle tickets, geocoins, ten raffle tickets, GOLD 2018 Geocaching Colorado geocoin, one year premium geocaching membership, stretch of raffle tickets, and more...

UGLY SWEATER CONTEST: Another must do activity for the season. We will call out for anyone who wants to participate to come up to the front. You will be able to walk the runway, and strut your stuff to showcase your fabulous sweater. The attendees will decide who wins the prize. We are in a library, so the "loudest" ASL clapping wins. The prize will be a geocoin (TBD).

CHOOSE YOUR OWN RAFFLE: Choose my own prize? Well, that isn't how raffles work, but with this one - you can have better odds. Instead of all tickets being drawn for all prizes, we are going to change it up. Many of the prizes will have a container next to them. You can place as many of your tickets as you want into that container. This will increase your odds of winning that specific prize. Place them ALL in one or disperse them around. How will YOU play? Any tickets not drawn for specific items will be added to the general raffle bucket, so no ticket goes to waste. Tickets are $5 for six, $10 for twelve, or $20 for a stretch of them. If you want to donate any items for the raffle, please bring them! We have a great community, and already have some fun donations added into the pile.

POTLUCK: Holiday treats are great; they are even better when shared. Please bring some holiday goodies to share with everyone. Geocaching Colorado will have plates, napkins, utensils, and cups. Whatever you bring must already be prepared, there is no cooking in the library <--obligatory statement. We look forward to your nomnoms.

BONUS: There may be (will be) at least one other opportunity to win cool stuff, so be sure to attend! 2018 Geocaching Colorado geocoins will be available for purchase as well. The big prize to be announced...

This Holiday Party is funded/presented by Geocaching Colorado, and is not sponsored by Douglas County Libraries. For more information, please contact Geocaching Colorado using the 'Message this owner' link at the top of this cache page.

This event was a ton of fun! We met some new folks, chatted with some we have met before, won some prizes, ate great food, and got to snuggle BearAdair. Just doesn't get much better than that! I've been avoiding putting out any caches, so I'll either have to give away my ammo can and bison tubes or actually join the cache owner's guild...
Thanks GCCO for putting on the event and providing so many great prizes. And thanks to all the other cachers who brought delicious food to eat and gifts for the exchange. I'll log the travelers that I spotted in the next couple of days.

What a fun party! Thanks for the great event! The little ones had a fun time as well, and playing upstairs in the library. It's always great fun to get to have a event and find a cache with fellow geocachers. Great prizes for the raffle and wonderful snacks. thanks to all whom brought them.

- What happens to elves when they behave naughty? Santa gives them the sack.

We had so much fun at this event.

It was great to see everyone.

Leave it to Colorado Geocachers to come out geocaching no matter what the temperature is, yes I noticed the shorts!!!

Thank you all for your participation, without which this game would not be possible.

Thanks to our leaders for setting up these events so we can get together and share our adventures and treasures!!!

Ok, funz over, now, Ya'll get out there and find those caches, if you can't find any more, then you best hide a few...cuz' you've probably already found all 26k + geocaches in the Denver metro area...Good job.

Watch for a Winter series...
Happy Hoiddays!
