OK. soooooooo we saved this cache to make it our 300th milestone. We aren't really urban catchers so this was a big deal to us! :) we weren't disappointed! What a hike, what a view. We didn't find the original, as hard as we tried, I agree with the previous cacher that it was muggled and is gone.. We found the replacement they left. we had a new log, so we signed it and put it back. hope that was ok.. We didn't have a replacement container with us but we did have a spare log. grabbed the TBs to move them along and mark our favorite 300th cache! Thanks so much. What fun. Posting some pics of the new log and the view!

Okay, I didn't find it ... but here's my story & I'm sticking to it...I never do what I did here so we'll see what ya thinks.
I think I first saw the 'puzzling' location of this one early this year while trolling the Barr with Spivy's Revenge mainly on my mind. Took till now to make the attack and I did toooo much hillin' today. After the Grandview Rock & Sheep Mtn caches, I had pseudo-planned an approach to where I needed to; it proved to be quite strenuous, and a FULL range of trailless conditions to negotiate. Coming up the west-facing scree slope just SW of the hide, I suddenly found plentiful litter of skeet shooting; and realized I was right here a year & a half or so ago when I got some other caches on this slope above Ruxton Cnyn.
At the necessary formation I made a wrong & really hairy approach to the last 70 feet or so... naturally once atop I see I should have merely strolled around to the other side.
I bet I was here 45 minutes at least, thoroughly covering all possible hidey-cracks. You hate to hit a place like this & find a large pile of wood ash & a huge soot scar on the 'ceiling' of the overhanging rock.... but I scoured nonetheless. My pics are pretty much dup's of Spoiler # 1 & the older Estes01/ W&T pic. After I had gone belly- down & as far as my head would fit in everywhere... reaching where I could & raking with a stick where I couldn't I dropped a replacement as best I could. With not a trace of plastic or remnant water bottle to be found I'm betting the fire-builders found this one.
I triple-ziplocked a bit of paper off my filter straw instruction sheet, added a couple small trackables; and set up a rock & stone covering way back in a crack under a big "hunk- of- cheese" shaped stone ( about 8 - 10 pounder). It is all covered by the plastic package insert from my straw & should be rodent & weather proof for a good while.
I hope the pics I took justify this... anyone can bring any small-ish container would be a big plus.

GoMRT's log entry pretty much sums up or (mis) adventure that had us backtrack to this GZ today. I even recall asking why no one had placed a cache here... Thanks to our experience negotiating the terrain yesterday, we climbed in proximity of the GZ in good order. The last 20' of horizontal movement proved the most difficult. At first we searched the wrong GZ, but later identified the correct one. GoMRT made the find and bellowed his victory cry, once again annoying the birds. Due to the terrain restrictions, we passed on a victory dance and took photos instead. On the way down, I slipped on the wet rock and almost struck my head on a outcropping. Fortunately, I regained my balance just in time to prevent my head from hitting the outcropping and breaking the rock. Although I have done some squirrely things in the past to claim a find, this was one of the tougher ones to negotiate. Besides a smiley, you do get a great sense of victory once you claim the find. Thanks for the tough hide!

KTrackers and I came back for this one today after realizing yesterday we were close to it! Making the trek up here was awesome and then finding the cache was even better. The rain did not help that started in fat drops then taper off to mist. Rocks got a touch slick. This one is a Fav for sure! Thanks for the challenge and the memories. For the next cacher, there is a full water bottle for you to hydrate from.

I've been wanting to get this one since you first published it. Today was the first time for me to be in the area, so it was great to have a patient KWBFOREST along while I picked up a couple that he had knocked out a few years ago. It's all downhill from here. Swapped TBs, TFTC, SL.
