This cache is hidden near the top of Legault Mountain in Meyer Ranch Open Space Park. This is part of a second set of caches in this series which are all along trails in open space areas west and southwest of Denver.
It is a 2.5 mile hike one way from the parking lot (waypoint provided). It is also a climb to about 9080 feet. There are a number of trails you can use to get to the top and of course you can find some other caches on the way!
On the inside of the lid of you will find a name of an animal that you should make note of because it will be important for solving the puzzle in a later cache in the series.
Beware of rattlesnakes in snake season!
I have provided some waypoints to help you find your way. The side trail waypoint is where the side trail starts off of the main trail. Follow this trail - it is quite well marked and lined with branches much of the way. Once you get to the TURN waypoint, the trail heads uphill and from here on is less obvious but it is still there and goes all the way to the top.
There is also a summit log for the mountain - a glass jar - that is not all that far from the cache location. This cache is a plastic trail mix jar so make sure you sign the correct log! There are also two benchmarks you can also log right by the summit log.
Oh, and bring your own pen.
