Great location in a nice park, Little Library very close, high muggle area on Saturday when we were there so the hint makes it an easy grab. Will be a stretch, use stealth,

Log only cache, bring your own pen, maybe some tweezers.

And now for the rest of the story . . .

I took a circuitous route back home to do a bit of gas price spotting before choosing a station to fill my tank. If you are curious, I ended up paying $3.18 / gallon at the Circle K near Kipling and 6th. I could have paid $3.17 / gallon at the Valero station near Kipling and 285.

Also, if you are curious, my wife was still asleep when I got home. She remained asleep during the entire time I was writing this novel. I do hope she enjoys her hike later this morning. I'm glad I successfully cleared another day on my FTF calendar!

Thanks for reading. I'm happy to sign copies if you print out the log and bring it to an event.

{FTF} @ 6:19 AM

I met the CO's at an event recently and they commented on having read (and enjoyed?) some of my log posts. So, here is a ridiculously long post just for them. All of it true and almost all of it is entirely irrelevant. None of the details have been changed and there is no need to protect the innocent.

So, you really are going to read all this are you? Okay, have fun. I do enjoy these containers and the find was easy. But, more on that eventually.

My wife and I are cleaning out the basement and cleaning out clutter in our lives in general. We made some progress on that effort yesterday. I alternated doing some work in the basement with completing a Jigidi puzzle for a mystery cache throughout the day (after having been out very early in the morning doing some geocaching). It took me MANY hours to complete the puzzle. I was still working on it during the evening while my family watched Onward on DVD. In fact, I still didn't have it done when the movie was over. So, I stayed up to (FINALLY) complete the puzzle. It was much later than I prefer to get to bed.

Well, I'm working on blacking out my FTF calendar and this had published last night. Since I had already gotten my FTF early yesterday morning, I wanted to grab this one for today's calendar day. But, my wife also wanted to be able to go out for a sunrise hike. After a bit of (mildly heated) discussion, I decided that I would set my alarm early and sacrifice my sleep so that I could get out and back in time for my wife to be able to make it to her hike. At 4:30 (which is the time I normally prefer to get up) my alarm went off. My wife told me that she had ended up staying up very late doing more decluttering work and had gotten to bed late; she didn't care about getting out in time for the sunrise after all.

Without getting into too much detail, I have trained my body to be ready to, ahem, go once I wake up. It wasn't an option for me to go back to bed. I tossed aside the covers and headed downstairs. Not needing to rush to get back before sunrise, I took my time getting ready to head out the door.

It is quite chilly this morning, so I put on my overalls. My overalls don't have a handy pocket for my phone, so I set it on the steps by the front door. I gathered my things, including grabbing a TOTT from the backyard, and put them in the car. Then I exited my garage and headed out to the cache. As I got (very) close to the location, I reached for my phone only to realize that I had left it at home.

I debated continuing to the park and looking around for the cache without knowing the exact location. But, I decided that A) I could end up wasting a bunch of time wandering around the area and B) I could end up stamping my name in FTF and then not being able to log it immediately, which would potentially result in somebody else racing for the FTF only to find that my name was already stamped on the log. So, I turned around and headed back home to grab my phone. Fortunately, it's only about a twelve minute drive each way.

In under 30 minutes from when I was first in the general vicinity, I was back at the location. I was glad that I had not decided to search around using just my geosenses. I would have headed off towards the wrong host. I may or may not have been able to find the cache. And I most surely would have either lost the FTF to the next seekers (Sorry, BC!) or I would have failed to log my find online before they got into the area and found my stamp on the log. As it turns out, the coordinates pointed me directly to the correct host and I quickly had my hands on the container. I didn't even need the TOTT that I had waiting in the car. I stamped the log and posted my find online with my customary FTF photo. Then I returned the container to its (notice the proper spelling of the possessive pronoun!) hiding spot.
