Beautiful views, good hiking and mountain biking trail, several ways to get there.
This cache is located in a beautiful area featuring nice hiking and mountain biking, with awesome views of Garden of the Gods and Colorado Springs. The trail is well used, but still a relatively well kept secret in this area. The terrain is really a 1.5. The last section could get a little steep, depending on your approach, and you could easily turn it into a 3. Also, there is a lot of short cactus within the 100 yard perimeter of the cache, so leave your open toed shoes at home and watch that smaller children don’t stumble or grab them. The dog and kids have had no problems on the occasions we have visited the site, so I consider it safe. There is trail all the way right up to the cache, though some of it is not “official” trail. Again, it depends on your approach and how much of a bushwhacker you are.

I wouldn't recommend biking in unless you're a decent mountain biker.

The container is a green ammo box with a white laminated sheet on the front identifying it as the Red Rock Ramble Geocache.

While you're there, be sure to wonder 50 yards south and check out the view and the canyon. If you came in the easy way, you may not even be aware that its there! The cache is located a very safe distance from the edge, but if you decide to explore, watch your step and keep children close by.

Also be sure to grab one of our geocache post cards. Take it to another cache, stick it on your fridge, or mail it to a friend.

Pictures from cache cameras are posted on our web site. Check 'em out! Hope to see you there soon!

Found this one where the updated coordinates said it would be. I didn’t take any of the tools that were in the box. Another D/T i didn’t have before! TFTC

Reviewing my old logs, and I see that this, the first cache I ever found, has been replaced. Thank you for keeping it going after all these years! Next time I'm in Colorado Springs I would love to come see the new cache.

My Dad replaced the cache, it’s good as new!

With the owners permission, I have replaced this cache. It is about sixty feet from the original GZ. Go to GZ and look for the nearest tall pine tree, it is under there. New coords are N38 50.077 W104 53.630. It is a plastic ammo box with lots of brand new TOTTs in it. Be sure to TRADE and not just take. The cache is cabled to the tree so do not try to pick it up. There is a brand new Rite in the Rain logbook in it as well. Come and find it.

How disappointing. This was the goal of my hike and the cache is gone. I found the obvious hiding spot, the SPOR, the scattered branches used to cover it but no cache. Please do not archive as this is one of the oldest caches on Colorado. If the CO wants, I can replace it for them. Just let me know. .

Wow, that was a lot longer hike than I thought it was going to be!! My old, chunky body almost didn't make it but I did :) Everything is in good condition. Dropped a pathtag and picked up a travelbug :) Thank you so much for keeping this going for so long!!!

Wow I had no idea there was a cache over 15 years old up here. That's longer than I've been caching.

Thanks for this wonderful old cache in such a great spot! Today I had to report to Jury Duty downtown. After a few hours I was finally dismissed. Leaving me with the rest of the day off what to do? Why caching of course! I decided I would make my way around the area up by the campground and nab a few Jasmer dates that I need. This was my destination for the day and I'm glad I made it! Such a great spot! Singed and stamped the log and replaced as found. All is still well here! Thanks to all who have kept this one going for all the years!

This turned out to be more of an adventure than anticipated. I missed the connecting trail to the cache. Correcting from that was not pretty. But all that was forgotten while soaking up the view at the cache. Coming back out needed to be a different route and I opted for low. There was a trail following the creek. That was working fine until the bears turned up. Mama and cub. The baby scooted while the mama stood guard on the path. I retreated noisily and waited for awhile until there was conspicuous crashing moving up hill. After a few more minutes I tentatively moved forward and confirmed they were gone. The rest was uneventfully following the trail all the way back to parking. Thanks for keeping this cache going.
