** SPOILER **
66% See Snoopy
66% See Snoopy (large)

The cache is not at the listed coordinates, but is within 2 miles as required by Geocaching Listing Requirements. Solve the puzzle to find the cache.

I took a nice autumn walk on established trails the other day to hide a cache. When I got home, I was surprised to find Snoopy, the World War I Flying Ace, and part of his doghouse, on my GPSr!

Now, you may or may not agree that this inkblot looks like Snoopy--only 66% of those I surveyed saw Snoopy. You can do the cache even if you are not enlightened.

To find the cache, simply locate the trails where I hiked and go to the point marked X in the picture. To help you out once you get in the general vicinity, I will tell you that when expressed in DD MM.MMM format, the latitude of point X ends in 15 and the longitude of point X ends in 12.

When you arrive at point X, you'll be leaving the trail. The cache location is approximately 215 feet northwest of point X. The latitude of the cache ends in 41 and the longitude of the cache ends in 43.

Update 11/4/07: New hints added. If you use the hints, the difficulty is more like a 2. A few people (mtn_goat, Spivey, vorticity, maybe others) figured out the puzzle and found the cache without the hints--great job!

Thanks for the fun cache in a great location! Out on an afternoon cache run with CrumCrunchers to get to a few caches that we have had on our lists. The weather may not have been the best and afforded little to no views today but we managed to stay relatively dry and warm. This cache has been at the pinnacle of my to list in the area. I've looked at this one so many times! Not to mention over 3 years since it was last found! Well... This is all I'll say... HOW did I miss that little 'N' and arrow in the map?!?! Ugh! Basically... we traced the entire map! Drew our own Snoopy with tracks on the GPS! With a fresh view (and a leaf marked to 300' increments), we managed to locate the 'X'!! Then is was a quick projection, sorta, and search. Crumbcrunchers managed to spot it after a pretty lengthy search, but not too bad. Signed the log and replaced back to it's hiding spot! Another 3 years? What a fun adventure to get to this one! Thanks! Throwing a favorite on this one!

Out on a fun cache run with RPieperco. We drove to the end of balanced rock road targeting this lonely puzzle. We took the long way but eventually our maps lined up and we vectored in where to look. A very happy moment when I spotted the cache. Sl, thanks!

I needed to do this hike to get a new Tom.dog cache in the area, decided to follow Tom.dogs route, and was not disappointed. Great views all the way and a good tough hike.

Thanks to all the people who place these caches in such beautiful locations!

Seems as if I've had this one solved for a few years now. It was great to finally hike out to GZ and make the find. Found it quickly. The views from here were the best that I saw today, and those boulders across the canyon looked pretty compelling... Thanks for the great puzzle and fun hide!

I wanted to get a hike in before all the football started.

Alittle snowy and cold but I had the trail to myself most of the way.

It was a hard one spot and to grab this morning. ( might have been the conditions? )

Thanks for the cache!

This cache was my primary reason for hiking up here today. The day started off amiss when I realized at cache Snoopy's Nose that I had entered it's coordinates as the solution for this puzzle (how did I do that?). I checked my phone and I had zero bars. I was bumming out a little at this point, but I continued on hoping that I would get phone coverage once I crested the ridge (which I did) I called my wife and she was able to find my "solution" and relay it to me. When I arrived at GZ I started my search with spoiler photo in hand, but that did not help me. I looked for well over an hour for this cache and I just couldn't spot it. I actually left twice only to return to look yet one more time. Finally I through in the towel and headed out to the next cache. After I found it I check my phone and I once again had phone coverage so I went ahead and called friend. He confirmed that I was indeed looking in the right area and provided a clue. I headed back to GZ and I had the cache in my hands after a few minutes. I looked at the spoiler photo and I could finally see the what I missed, but for me I think that this picture turned into more of a distractor. Anyways thanks for the puzzle and the long hunt!

This was an interesting hike, to say the least. We (me, Pohka and OF-Erad) went after a good variety of caches, at an elevation that should have killed me (and tried to a couple times). I think I spent the better part of the last two hours checking my pulse. You see I'm from sea level, and seldom exercise. :) But I did make it all the way to the end of the loop and didn't slow the group down too much. Learned a few things along the way and saw some beautiful scenery. I even got buzzed by a hummingbird! Thanks for bringing me out to this part of Colorado.

Awesome view from here, and they actually let me sit down and eat lunch. :)

Wow, what a day with OF-Erad and Deety; this one was the cream on top. The view is great up here!!! Estimates for getting us here were on target, search area was bigger than expected though. Had a great lunch break up here! TFTC.

Out all day on a super fun hiking adventure with Pohka and Deety. Had to PAF to verify I was in the right spot. I was only 200 feet off. Thanks for placing this cache for us to find! SL, TFTC!

Yippee, we finally get to log this one! My dad solved the puzzle months ago, then I attempted to reach it with a group of kids in tow... bad idea... not only is it too far and strenuous for little kids, but some of the natural features along the way distracted them. Today though, luck was with us, and I mean serious luck because not only did I get the babysitter to watch my geo-kids so dad and I could go for this one, but the clouds kept us cool (and the wind and rain later made sure of that), but we couldn't find the cache so I sent a plea to CO for clues, and only had to backtrack 0.12 miles for a second attempt. Short of being blown off the mountain I don't think my dad would have left without the find... of course it was me he sent to the precarious spot to get it!!! Final tally- 66 mins plus a few to reach the final location, winds of 66mph trying to blow us off the mountain, 66 feet times about 500 to backtrack to the cache location, 6.6 mins to locate and obtain the cache!! Oh, did I mention the $66 for the babysitter??? Maybe not quite that much but it was all worth it! TFTC. stamped log "thebocats".
