This cache is first or last in the Rocky Mountain Off Road Series caches that heads up Storm Mountain. There are several approaches that can be attempted.
This series will take you into a land that has off chute trails that you can explore as well as take you into an old burn area.
The trail(s) can go by several names depending on which maps you are looking at.
Keep in mind there is a trail referred to as “Storm Drain”. This is FS RD 153C that is a no exit trail that will test your nerve and skills. If you continue down this trail, expect Rocky Mountain pin striping on your vehicle. The trail is very narrow, tippy and “ledgy” and should be done with others. OHV’s or ATV’s should be able to do well on this trail but expect some challenges and tense moments. Remember that this trail has NO EXIT! You must return the way you went in.

Hoo boy, that was a workout! We hiked up from Black Creek Dr on a disused trail that we couldn't even find half the time. Good thing we had navigation. It was only about 4 miles round trip, but it took us over 4.5 hrs to do it! I'm quite proud of myself for this one. Cache is in great shape.

Saturday of Memorial Day weekend and only saw one other person on the trail and he was a local landowner. The gate below Galuchie Park is still locked so I parked there and hiked in. It wasn't so bad getting there but coming back has a really steep section that wore me out. As KingJr noted, the Storm Drain Trail is blocked off by several fallen trees just beyond Happy Rock. TFTC!!

My son Sean's first Cache!

Me: Hey Sean, let's see if we can find the hidden treasure here, it's right in this area!
Sean: What? Hidden Treasure? What hidden treasure?
Me: It's probably in a box, look around, under rocks, in bushes......
Sean: What? I'm not finding anything, what are we looking for? Treasure? You mean like gold and stuff?
Me: No, just a box with some cool things in it....look over there, see if you can see something
Sean: (sigh)....ok....this is dumb...
Me: Keep looking........
(2 mins later)
Me: Hmm, I'm not finding it....
Sean: Ugh! I'm not either....
Me: (sigh).
Sean: ....I FOUND IT!! Oh Cool!!!!! I wanna see what's in it!!
Me: That's great!! Congratulations!
Sean: Wait, Dad? How do you open this??????!!!
