This cache is first or last in the Rocky Mountain Off Road Series caches that heads up Storm Mountain. There are several approaches that can be attempted.
This series will take you into a land that has off chute trails that you can explore as well as take you into an old burn area.
The trail(s) can go by several names depending on which maps you are looking at.
Keep in mind there is a trail referred to as “Storm Drain”. This is FS RD 153C that is a no exit trail that will test your nerve and skills. If you continue down this trail, expect Rocky Mountain pin striping on your vehicle. The trail is very narrow, tippy and “ledgy” and should be done with others. OHV’s or ATV’s should be able to do well on this trail but expect some challenges and tense moments. Remember that this trail has NO EXIT! You must return the way you went in.

I wanted to take my dog somewhere different today, so I decided to go for this cache. The road is still closed, so I parked at N 40 28.433 W 105 21.438 and walked the roughly 1.5 miles to the cache. FDR 295 is driveable in any vehicle with halfway decent clearance, but Foggy Park Rd needs a proper 4x4.

Cache was in great shape. Only a few ants!

With Picture Liberty. Not hard to find, but covered with ants.

Jeeping with wm0f today and made the find. Beautiful spot - thanks for bringing us here! SL, all in good shape, be careful though the red ants are 'guarding' the cache!

I'm a bit behind in logging my caches...figured I better get it done!

Found the cache while out jeeping with Team Red Rubicon.

Out jeeping with Team Red Rubicon and friends. The weather was amazing for late October and we even encountered a little snow at the summit of Storm Mountain. We also ran Jug Trail...I don't think I've ever done that one before. Next time we have to find Nelson Spring. We saw a sign at the beginning of Jug Trail but never found the spring.

We all made the search but by the time I go there, someone had already retrieved the cache from it's hiding spot. We signed the log and then headed back down the trail to Storm Mountain.

We had a great time!

Thanks!
