This cache is first or last in the Rocky Mountain Off Road Series #12 caches that heads up Storm Mountain. There are several approaches that can be attempted.
This series will take you into a land that has off chute trails that you can explore as well as take you into an old burn area.
The trail(s) can go by several names depending on which maps you are looking at.
Keep in mind there is a trail referred to as "Storm Drain". This is FS RD 153C that is a no exit trail that will test your nerve and skills. If you continue down this trail, expect Rocky Mountain pin striping on your vehicle. The trail is very narrow, tippy and “ledgy” and should be done with others. OHV’s or ATV’s should be able to do well on this trail but expect some challenges and tense moments. Remember that this trail has NO EXIT! You must return the way you went in.

I found this one on my way out after a hike. It took a little while to find but I was looking for something a little larger. I would call it a small rather than a regular. TFTC

Barasaur and I grabbed this one after what is likely the longest hike ever to get to this one. Cache was in good shape and easy to find. Thanks for the placement.

A bit of a hike from Buckhorn Rd. But it leads to a nice spot here. Hadn't been up this way before. #263.

Well we, Memfis Mafia and I, made this into a TRUE 5x5 cache. We didn't know that Storm Mountain road was unlocked and available to travel during hunting season. We will do much better planning in the future. But we drove to Drake parked up on a side road about 1.8 miles from the cache over land through ravines and NO Trail. We made it to the cache with nearly an 8 mile hike over very rough terrain. To get out we ended up hiking out to Buckhorn road where we bummed a ride from Mrs Barasaur back home. What a day that ended with a couple VERY WELL Deserved and earned smilies on our Geomaps.

Grabbed this cache at the extraction point.

Easy find, but watch for cactus as you walk to the coordinates.
