Not Recommended for kids  Takes more than an hour  Scenic view  Significant hike  Difficult climbing  May require wading  Not Available during winter  Poison plants  Cliff / falling rocks  Dangerous area  No Drinking water nearby  Thorns  Medium hike (1km-10km)  No Tree Climbing  Teamwork Required

WARNING: This cache can be dangerous. If you are inexperienced, or don’t know what you’re doing, I highly recommend not doing this cache for your own safety. Also, for everybody else, please be very careful as well. One slip could be very dangerous. Going up is hard, dangerous and slick. Same goes for going down. Don't do this cache when snow is on the ground either.

Remember also that if you get hurt, you have to hike back 1.5 miles.

This is a do at your own risk cache. It is not my nor Geocaching.com’s fault if you get hurt or worse. Do it at your own risk.

With that being said…

The hike here won’t be easy. The hill getting up is very steep and has lots of small loose rocks. It does not look that bad from the trail, but once you get up there, it almost looks like the slope is vertical.

Once you get to GZ however, you will be greeted with a beautiful rocky lookout. It is a small rock platform that is mostly flat. A little break point before making your descent. I recommend that for the descent, you go to the left of the cache GZ (From where you come up from). There is a small rocky creek that you can follow for most of the way down. It turns into a small waterfall eventually though. You can then cut off and then get back on later. You will get wet that way however as it is an active stream.

Cache is a small sized container with room for TB’s and SWAG. Please place it back as found.

[FTF] 10-21-2]22 at 4:55 pm. At the beginning of the trail, I wondered what I got myself into. It was steeper than expected. I saw a lot of cars at the trailhead, but not a single hiker on the first leg. Then on the turn back west, I saw the hordes returning to their cars. With my late start, I was the only one headed up the hill. A few light sprinkles kept me cool along the way. When no one was nearby I listened to a book on tape with the trail leveling out for a good portion of the hike. As I looked ahead I saw a looming tower on the north side of the trail and thought, "I hope I don't have to go up there." Navigation let me know that I was within .3 miles and that looming place, well it was really close. In fact, it seemed to be about .3 miles away. At the CO's guidance, I pressed about .1 miles past the first opportunity and started my hike up. It's steep with rocks, grass covered rocks and gaps, and a narrow gurgling stream. This part took a while because I'm old and out of shape. I took my time and made it up to the GZ which thankfully, was not at the looming peak. Soon I had the container in hand. It's in a safe placement and I found it thanks to the spoiler photo. After grabbing the trackable and a few photos, I tucked it back and headed back down. I chose to avoid the scree again and made it down without a problem. This was a great adventure, great coords, and perfect D/T rating!
Today, to celebrate Friday evening, I decided to head to the mountains to find caches and enjoy the sunset. It was a beautiful day of blue jays, a few hawks, and the crisp chill of autumn.
Thanks for the cache!
