Raylan's Red Mountain Rodeo Roundup

Welcome to the Gunnison National Forest! This cache is located off the national forest trails that lead to Whetstone and Red Mountain. You will need a high clearance 4x4 vehicle to access the cache, or you can always hike or mountain bike your way in. We take our ATV out on these trails and it's great fun (Our ATV's name is Raylan after the sheriff in the show "Justified" and this cache is named for him, haha). To access, take Carbon Creek Rd (#737) into the national forest. At the first fork inside the NF boundary, take the trail that goes to the right and up towards Red Mountain. After about another mile, you will come to another fork on your left next to a well-used campsite. Take this left fork for a few hundred yards until the road runs out between a hunting camp on your right, and access to Whetstone Mountain on your left. From the parking waypoint follow the treeline on your left towards GZ. You are looking for a blue and clear drybox container like you would use for rafting/fishing hidden amoung the trees. Plenty of room for trading swag and TBs.

Enjoy the fantastic views of Carbon Peak and Whetsone! In the fall, this is one of my favorite spots to enjoy the changing leaves. Make sure to blaze orange during hunting season. This cache may be difficult to access and will not be accessable in the winter months. Please message me if you need another hint or directions :)
