Welcome to Sandstone Ranch Open Space

Do you love gadget caches? Large containers? Mysteries? Difficult hides?
Then this cache isn't for you
This is a simple cache to highlight this beautiful, and new Open Space in Douglas County.
"This 2,038-acre ranch borders the Pike National Forest and features an extraordinarily diverse landscape including red rock formations and sloping meadows; vast wildlife habitat and corridors, expansive and diverse vegetation and other natural resources; as well as cultural and historic assets, including a historic ranch operation and a number of historic buildings dating back to its original owners in the 1870s." *
It was originally slated for development, but is now protected forever! You can bring your horse, mountain bike, hiking shoes, snow shoes, cross country skis, and/or furry friend (on a leash). There are over 12 miles of trail to enjoy. Remember: Elk, bears, mountain lions, coyotes, and many other wildlife species call this land home.
While this cache is always available (outside the fence), this property is open from 8 a.m. to one hour after sunset. Please stay on designated trails. Geocaches are allowed in DCOS within ten feet of the trail.
