Easy hike from Warm Springs Outlot "M" sign. Easy, but longer hike from Breakneck Pass basePlastic jar, blue lid. Contains TB, photo keychain, other trinkets.
A note about WARM SPRINS SUBDIVISION. Warm Springs is a gated, private mountain community which borders the Pike National Forest. When the entry gates are working, access is limited to residents, or those with the gate code. Each of the 5 Warms Springs caches are accessible with moderate hikes from Breakneck Pass Road (Pike National Forest Road # 175) in the Pike National Forest.
Breakneck Pass road is accessed by taking US Hwy 285 south of Fairplay past Mile Marker 179, to the well marked turn off to Weston Pass (Park County 5). Take Park County 5 1.7 miles (Across two cattle guards), then make a right turn (actually this is the very first right turn opportunity once you enter Park County 5) onto Breakneck Pass Road. This road is very rocky once it enters the Pike National Forest. If you are traveling in other than a high clearance vehicle, park at the Pike National Forest Boundary, and hike to the caches. You can snag the 5 Warm Springs caches, the Weston Pass base cache (GC1WTNK) and the Breakneck Pass cache (GC1RW2P) with a moderate hike. Caches GC1YQ18 and GC1YQOW are in the woods, all the rest are in clearings.
09/24/2016 By Back Country Horsemen No longer any access from the subdivision so we found a nice cross slope trail from the last cache to this one. We found it exposed out of its hidey hole so we hide it back as best we could.
08/17/2015 By ibgpin Another quick find due to "right on" coordinates. This is a very nice series, especially if you get them from the subdivision side. TFTC
