I have been to this area twice looking for a nearby caches and each time I have made the mistake of taking this turnoff. So I decided that having a cache here would at least give me something to do when I come back again.

The terrain to get to this old mine site requires a high clearance vehicle in a couple of spots. Full size vehicles may also have some difficulty with the narrow lane of bushes you must traverse. If you do not have a high clearance or smaller vehicle, parking on the main trail is available not far from this cache.

Once you are at the mine site the terrain to get to the cache is mostly level. You will be searching for a camoed mixed nuts platic jar with a log book, pen and pencil, and various items for trading. I also left a TB.

NOTE: 8/21/11 Cache has been replaced by DustyKat with a waterproof match container.

I found a match container with signatures from 2011-2013. I didn't see the container mentioned in the last log but there is at least one there. I found it about 20 feet ENE of where my GPS put GZ. TFTC

Sorry for the late log.

We had a great geocaching summer. It was our first trip to Colorado JEEPing and geocaching and we had so much fun. We found this on our way up and over Mosquito Pass..well the snow stopped us , but we still had a blast.

We parked 5 Jeeps up here.............. spotted a trout in a small area of the creek that cascades down the mountain here........and keeps on going down the hill. He looked stuck, so we walked toward him and he went on down the mtn.... hope he made it. We named him Waldo, if you see him, let us know...HA
Looked, looked, & looked (10 of us).. no cache anywhere near GZ... took the liberty of replacing it at your coords/hint, so hopefully that was o.k. and should be good to go.
Thanks,
The Splashes w/the San Diego Crew

No finds in over a year. I wasted a lot of time looking for a regular before I read the prior logs and saw this was now a micro. The geocaching.com listing really needs to be changed to indicate micro not a regular. PLEASE UPDATE THE LISTING. First log in over two years. I am disappointed that so few geocachers make it up here. Dianne and I hiked up and reached the summit of Mt. Tweto (13,672 ft) . On the way down we did a detour and found the cache in excellent shape with spot on coordinates. TN LN TFTC!

The road is washed out near this one. Maybe it was always like that or maybe it is from the recent rains. It wasn't a far walk but did result in wet feet. Great spot for a cache. Thanks!

Paix et Sante! Great to find some caches on a camping trip! TFTC P.S. The cache container is NOT a regular size container. Suggest the owner update the cache container size to MICRO.

Interesting area, good hide. Went searching today with "Buzz Lightyear I" - we had our fair share of trouble finding this one, but after a little bit of thinking, we were able to figure out where it was. TN-LN-SL. Thanks !
