This section of the Rock Island Trail has recently been concreted.  It is a beautiful trail and has a lot of bike traffic; perfect for caches so I am placing a few.  I am starting on the west end and going east but you can find them in any order.    I hope you enjoy them.

Bearly off the trail.

I had to go back to this same area today for a maintenance run. I was here yesterday and I thought in addition to the geo-work, I would do some CITO around the area of my potential hide on Rock Island Trail. After picking up a bag full of stuff, I headed over to this newly birthed cache. I had to use my reacher tool to extract the bit of used paper. After adding my ink to it I shoved it back where the sun don't shine. What's funny is this guy has a huge smile on his face, lol. Dropping a favorite point here. Now I believe I heard the call of nature. Cheers!

Very surprised this was still available for FTF this morning.

It took longer to get the log out then to find it.

Cute container.

Thanks again for the cache!

Cache Log

Couldn't get this one in the dark. Tried for probably, no definitely way too long. Oh well. Save at least 1 FTF for someone else haha. 3/4 on FTFs tonight though so I am pleased! I swear those tree ones still be getting me. It's like I can't focus on eyes on those or something haha. Thanks for the hide!

Daily Log

I started the day feeling a bit down due to lack of sleep and some loneliness. But I pushed myself to get out and find a geocache to keep my daily streak alive, and I’m so glad I did . The weather was perfect, and the unexplored beauty of Palmer Park left me in awe . It was a fantastic place to take in the views and snap some fun pictures !

After returning to the car with 3/3 successful finds in Palmer Park , I received 4 notifications about new geocaches nearby, just 10 minutes away . Without much hesitation, I entered the coordinates into Google Maps and headed over ?.

A few finds later, I had 3/4 First-to-Finds (FTFs) for the evening . Wow! I was having an absolute blast scoring so many FTFs in one go . I also faced my fears of the dark and exploring a new area. The trail system where I found the new geocaches was stunning and remarkable . I heard it was recently paved, and it’s so wide that it offers a nice path for everyone to share! Although the 4th FTF eluded me, I felt a mix of frustration and relief when I decided to call it a night and head back .

Reflecting on the day, I realized that even though I missed the 4th FTF, I had the perfect circumstances to be the first to find 3/4 new caches that popped up on my radar! It was serendipitous that I was just 4 minutes from reaching the car and heading home when I got the notifications . I thought, “It’s dark and getting late, but that makes me even more likely to be FTF. Let’s go night caching!”

Not only did I shake off my funk and enjoy some nature , geocaching, and sunsets , but I also had the chance to grab 3 FTFs and experience the thrill of night caching, which added to the adventure!
