This was a perfect day to hike up this trail for the only two caches that I haven't found up here. It was nice and cool so I wasn't worried about not taking enough water. I can't believe I'm only the second to find these! It's certainly an easier hike than Tanner Trail. I walked straight to this one and didn't need a hint. The cache is in perfect condition, but there was a heavy rock on top of it. When the weather gets hot that may cause the container to deform. I rearranged things so the rock isn't resting directly on the container. There are a lot of little toys that kids would enjoy. It's too bad no one is visiting these caches. Thanks for putting these up here and giving me an excuse to hike up this trail again.

FTF! with nite_raven at 10am. Been having phone issues lately and didn't see the new cache alerts that came in around noon until about 8pm. Figured with such nice weather someone would have grabbed the FTF! already. Got up today, refreshed the caches, and was surprised to see no logs. I happened to be on 2 forced days off due to the boss being gone, so a geohike was perfect. Hadn't been up this trail since doing the 15 year cache. That hike had plenty of water everywhere. This hike was completely dry, no creek at all. The gate right off the highway was new since we were here last. As nite_raven jumped out the passenger side to open the gate a rattlesnake tucked itself up against our right front tire and wouldn't let her pass! After it finally slithered off into the ditch below we were able to get through the gate. Thought FTF! might be gone when we spotted a Silverado in the parking lot, but we never saw anyone else until the small climb out of the creek bed on our way out. We stopped for a rest on the side of the trail where you catch the first glimpse of the teepee. As we stepped back on the trail there was a huge crash. A big widow maker had fallen from the tree top and landed exactly where nite_raven had been standing just seconds before! The last time we were here the creek crossing almost reached GZ. Thanks for the nice FTF! prize and the excuse to enjoy this trail again.
