Woohoo! Cache # 2200!
After finding Bear Ridge Cache Bandit and I headed up to McKinley Treasure Chest. The trail got slightly more difficult, but we had no problem negotiating it and avoided getting wet. Well at least I didn’t get wet. Bandit had a blast splashing in the stream. The water was much lower than I expected, possibly because of the cool weather. I made this one harder than it is. I thought I spotted a good hiding place and scrambled about 40 feet up the hill. Nada! I spotted it easily coming back down. This one is also in perfect condition. I signed the log, added some GOOHF cards, and left a travel bug--Lonely Traveler # 20. This seems like a perfect spot for a travel bug that likes lonely caches. Thanks again for getting me up to this beautiful area! Favorite added.

FTF! with nite_raven at 10:15am. After getting Bear Ridge we continued to this cache. Every main creek crossing, although dry, must have still had ground water. Each one had clouds of flies and wasps to hike through. They were swarming the wet dirt. The wind started gently on the tree tops on our way out and these tall, skinny trees really creak and groan against each other. They make some pretty crazy sounds. Thanks for the nice FTF! prize and the excuse to enjoy this hike again.
