Joseph Vissarionovich Stalin (1878 - 1953) was dictator of the Soviet Union (1929 – 1953) and known for creating his own brand of Communism, known as Stalinism. Stalin was also well known for his political acumen, ruthlessness, brutality and secrecy. Less well known are some of his quotes, such as "Quantity has a quality all its own," that offer snippets into his true personality. This quotation is often associated with World War 2 Soviet military strategy that saw mass produced armor and artillery, along with human wave attacks of infantry. While this strategy resulted in horrendous causalities, it did steamroll the Germans and ensure final victory.

Taking a cue from this quote, I offer this atypical K trackers hide. Instead of complicated widgets, arcane puzzles, and lengthy cache descriptions; it is time for a simpler, easier to produce hide. In true Soviet Stalinist style; the hide is simple, rugged, requires little maintenance, is shrouded in secrecy, may produce high DNF casualties, but is definitely more fun than a one way ticket to the Gulag. Even when the GZ falls into disrepair like other relics of the Soviet Union, the cache will still be serviceable. Enjoy the hunt Comrade.

Started an epic caching weekend by checking out the fire tower, then meandering south. GoMRT insisted on this stop, and I'm glad he did. What an intriguing spot. Found the one GoMRT/ernie66/estes01/WingsAndTales signed and the near identical replacement with the other 2 recent signatures. Thanks for placing this unique cache!

I was happy to see that the Rampart Range Road opened again after the fire, so came north to find several caches. Thanks for the interesting hide!

Sending an email to co. Not sure what exactly we found but signed the log.

I knew Stalin was tough but wow. Even when we had narrowed down the possibilities it too a long time to find. I'm glad we had eagle eye GoMRT along. TFTC

As far as I can remember, this takes the prize for the longest I've ever searched for a cache. Ernie66 and I tried to find this one on 10/29 but left without the smiley. We hadn't seen Hartsdale's log yet so were unaware that it had already been found. We also had a lot of signal bounce that day so decided against logging a DNF until I'd spoken to the CO. Right…good luck getting any information out of THAT CO. But he did go check it and confirmed it was missing. K Trackers' cache containers are very clever and I'm sorry that we missed whatever it was, but maybe one day he'll tell me. In any case, we enlisted the help of two other seasoned cachers – WingsAndTales and GoMRT. Without giving anything away, we were thankful that GoMRT spotted it with his keen vision. Thanks for another fun hunt.

Estes01 and I had stopped here on our last trip to the area but weren't able to come up with the cache before time ran out. It was heartening to hear later that the cache was missing. On today's trip, we brought two more sets of eyes and one of those other sets happened to get the right angle and spotted the cache. TFTC!
