Lincoln Mountain Thunderbirds!

I've found 3 of these up here while exploring!  Thought I would share.  Keep an eye out while hiking the trails!

I'll admit, I have no knowledge of what these are, how old they are, or why they are here.  I'm hoping the smart folks of the caching community or someone "in the know" might be able to offer some explanations in the logs or at least some entertaining theories!  There is evidence they are not that old, but maybe they have just been expanded upon.  Maybe it's just kids trying to make their mark on Google Earth!  Ha ha ha  Who knows!

This one is on the plateau of Lincoln Mountain, the other two are along the trail to the north that winds around the bluffs.  Bonus bragging points if you share a picture at all three!! Ha ha!  Even more bonus points if you find another!!

The hike is roughly 3.5 miles round trip and a decent elevation gain.  Summers are hot up here!  Bring water!

Hope you enjoy the views and the oddity here!  Let me know if there are any issues in the logs.

Picked this one up while doing a short hike in the Lincoln Mountain Open Space. Pretty neat feature! Thanks to the CO for placing this nice cache for everyone to find, TFTC.

Interesting view up here, especially seeing a water ski place, wasn’t aware there was one here. A nice place down below, given the look though I think it would be better for Sidhe Stones but that’s just me. Appreciate the hide.

Been waiting for a good day to take another ride up here, avoid summer thunderstorms, high winds, find these newer caches & today seemed perfect. Found this one easily but don't know anything about the rock shapes.

It was a bit chilly and windy today but I really wanted to do some caching. I hiked more than 8 miles around Lincoln Mountain Open Space Park and then found a few more on the way home. I made the find here at 2:36:00 PM. Thanks for the cache and for helping make today an even nicer day!

So no flyby? This was actually about rocks! I think we missed that...not sure how, but I'll check it out the next time.

No Thunderbirds today, and very few trail users, so we had the whole upper loop to ourselves. The wind on top made it feel colder than it really was, especially when walking into it. Cache is in good shape, TFTC!
