This cache was planted in honor of DogCatFxr's 1000th cache. Maybe he'll get to 1000 before this gets posted but that's ok! It's the thought that counts. Right? Speaking of thoughtfulness, many thanks to Popamatic for doing ALL the work for this one. Congrats again DCF! We hope we never find that many! LOL Smile


Now on to the cache...

This cache is on the Herman's Gulch trail. To get to the big parking lot at the trailhead, take the unmarked Exit 218 off of I-70, just before you get to the Route 6 exit. The cache is off the trail about 100 feet, and is a smallish tupperware-type container. If there is snow on the ground you might have trouble finding the cache.

Found with Lidlove on our way up to Herman Lake. Walked in little circles around the big rock until the cache jumped out at us! Signed log and replaced where found. Cache contents damp, but the lid was off when we found it. Put the lid on tight...hope it stays that way. Thanks!

Cache #1171! Beginning the very uphill climb to Herman Lake. In hindsight I can say the views are totally worth it. Made this find quickly and everything was in good shape. Dropped a new TB!

Found some caches on a nice walk up to the lake, thanks for hiding this. It looked like a sizeable avalanche came down through here, but the cache is in fine shape.
