When you arrive at GZ you should see a sign that says "Land Survey Monument." Directly behind the sign there is a U.S. General Land Office Survey marker. Look at the bottom of the survey marker and you will see 4 numbers. Label these numbers ABCD. Next look for the bearing tree which is very close. You should see two bearing trees and the one you are looking for is to the South and West.

This is the Bearing Tree you are looking for.

From the Bearing Tree you need to project 1702 ft at a bearing of JKL degrees where:
J = C - D
K = B - A
L = A
Checksum = 9

Congrats to UMass72 for the FTF!

Plan "A" was a no go, so I made a plan "B" to do a couple of multi's up this way.

Went for this one first and
remembered seeing these marked trees last time I was on this trail.

Anyway I grabbed the final and headed to the next one.

Thanks for a fun Multi Cache to hunt down!

Like ernie66 said, we expected a lot more snow up there. I always find it tough to walk a road I know my vehicle can handle, but we were trying to get some exercise so off we trudged. Interesting spot and you could have made this multi a lot harder. Thanks for not doing that and thanks for the hide!

We came up looking for a place to cross-country ski, thinking there would be more new snow up here than in Colorado Springs. Well, there was barely enough to cover the gravel so we decided to walk instead. Have to say that the number is very hard to read when the disk is wet and snow is falling. Making an educated guess about the last two digits led us to the correct final cache location. SL, TFTC!
