Hubby and I decided to go on a jeep ride over Webster Pass, before we left for football season in Texas. At the top we met a jeep full of adventureres, who were coming down Red Cone Trail.
They were even cooking in their jeep engine. Pulled out enough appetizers for 4 people, all hot and ready to go. :) I've only known one other person my whole life who has cooked in the car engine while out on a road trip. so this event had to be remembered!|
We were going down the southside of the Pass, and oooh boy, was that some sphincter pinching switchbacks. I had the uphill view, so I just ignored what was out the driver's side window. On the second switchback there is a lovely little spot that just cried out for a geocache. Luckily, I had one on me. The odd thing was there was the remenants of a shattered car window or windshield. Gave me a bit of the heebie jeebies, but I perservered. You are looking for an ammo can, with log book and pencil, a book crossing book, a trackable, and a few other tradeables. There is also a bag of metallic sharpies, so I hope you will sign the outside of the can as well. :) My signature is on the lid.
You will have to walk a long hard uphill for a long hike, or get a hardy off-road vehicle and a can of nerves to get there.
Do not attempt in the winter! It will be buried deep!
