Whenever I order salmon in a restaurant, I always ask the server, "Atlantic" or "Pacific"? You can ask the same question of this micro. If a drop of water lands in the area of the cache--where will it go?

This microcache, situated on the Continental Divide above Loveland Pass and on an easy trail, affords excellent views of the mountains in the area. It is situated at an elevation of 3,787 meters and and is about1.5 km from the pass. Park at Loveland Pass and take the trail west of the road to the first rock shelter on a small bump on the trail. Cache is nearby. (Look at the hint and the spoiler photos).

As this is a high country hike, remember to wear sturdy shoes, bring adequate clothing (including rain gear), carry enough water, and watch the weather. Thunderstorms occur on many afternoons, particularly in the summer months. Also watch for signs of altitude sickness--especially if you are a visitor to Colorado--take it slow if you are not accustomed to the altitude and enjoy the views and the many wildflowers when they are available.

Because the point of this cache is to bring cachers to a lovely spot and to take a hike--if there is too much snow to find the container or if it has dropped into the rocks too far to find, or any other disaster that can occur to a small cache in the mountains--just take a photo of your gps at the cache site, and if you wish, yourself, and you will have earned your smiley.

Wow so far this one has been the hardest to find. I found the letterbox right away (bummer though, I don't play that game) but that pesky pill bottle eluded me on my way out-even using the spoiler photos. It had just gotten so windy... so on north I went finding the other 2 & stopped here again with a little calmer winds (relative). Looked at all 3 photos, identified 2 of them but not the one of the cache. I was just about to give up & post a photo find as instructed when viola I looked down & there it was! I must have walked right over it a dozen times. So glad! Last signature July of 2016.

Found the letter box first, had to hide what we were doing from muggles, then found the pill bottle on the same set of rocks, pretty cool!
