This Geocache is on a NEW trail near the ghost town of Winfield, Colorado. The elevation is over 10,000ft.
Once you arrive in the ghost town of Winfield, keep driving straight along CR390 until you get to a T-intersection. Do not turn left to continue on CR390. Go straight. It will look like you are driving into someone's driveway to there residence, but you are not. Keep driving until you get to a sign that shows High Clearance Vehicles only. Keep going a 1/2 mile. There is a campground there. The trail is 150ft north of the road. Get to it and hike east.

 Hints

[This Geocache is a dedication to Special Women in my life and yours.] There is a picture of my wife and I as well as our "Grandma we never had". There is also a charm/necklace inside. You can take it to your special woman, but please replace it with a new one. To find it: The Geocache is right next to a water run-off/stream. As you are looking upstream facing the water run-off and the mountain slope, the geocache is tied to the base of an aspen tree with a purple strap above the trail. The geocache is in a sandwich size pelican box.

We couldn't drive up the narrow road with our pickup camper so we walked up to the cemetery. We didn't want to miss the trail as others have so we found a short trail out of the cemetery but then quickly found ourselves bushwacking uphill quite a ways until we did find the very nice easy trail. Now do we take the short way down?

Spending our 5th summer in Buena Vista with a dozen or so of our Jeeping friends. We love to explore the roughest, toughest dirt roads in our gold-mobile, and find lonely caches in out-of-the-way places. I also bush-wacked up to the cache only to find a trail going by.

Co-ordinates to hike on trail from west:
(gps should read about .26 miles away)

Trail crosses CR 390
(limited parking) no sign, just find a way up the berm
N 38* 59.145 W 106* 26.245

Junction with Colorado trail - turn west
N 38* 59.377 W 106* 26.172

My guess about 1/2 mile one way with 250 feet elevation change

Thanks for the cache. It was a little bit of a challenge as we could not find the trail for anything. Drove up and down the road several times. What we ended up doing to get to the trail and the cache was start out at the Winfield Cemetery cache as it is just over a quarter mile from there. The trail is about 528 feet above the Cemetery. I found the trail on accident which was better then bushwacking it through the trees as I was before.
