The cache is a 35mm container. It is not winter friendly.
This is one of the caches in a series of caches dedicated to Fallen Flag railroads. Fallen Flags are those railroads that no longer exist either through abandonment or corporate takeover. With each cache will come a short history lesson explaining a little something about the railroad.

DSP&P are the initials of the Denver, South Park, and Pacific railroad. It was a narrow gauge line (3’ between the rails) that started life in Denver in 1874 and was headed to the mining camps in the mountains.

London Junction, or as it is now known, Alma Junction, was the end of the Alma Branch at about a mile south of town. It was here that the railroad accepted ore that was being shipped to Denver and boarded passengers that were headed to either to the Gunnison area or the Denver Area. Another railroad, the LSP&L (London, South Park, and Leadville) was built from here to the North London Mill up Mosquito Gulch. A station and other railroad building were located here. The cache is next to the railroad grade

One more cache for the afternoon. This hide is closest to where we are staying. Thanks for the hide!

In the area with fearthefish collecting up a few stray degrees I need to complete the Colorado 360 Challenge. There are 2 reasons this became a double digit find day for me: 1. We drove for 2 hours to get here and we weren't about to find 3 caches and turn around and go home! 2. When one travels with fearthefish it is as sure as death and taxes that you will be stopping many many times to grab caches in the area that satisfy fizzy challenges and jasmer challenges and word challenges from 10 years ago etc, etc, etc.! And while that might sound like complaining, it is anything but and we wouldn't have fearthefish acting any other way!! TFTC

Heh324 and I were out and about caching and exploring around Fairplay today. Heh324 needed a few degrees for the Colorado 360° Challenge and I just wanted to join her and cache.

As most people know, I get easily distracted. I guess you could say that, when it comes to caching, I have geo-ADD. So when I come across a cache that helps me towards completing a challenge, I'm drawn to it like a moth to a flame. Fortunately heh324 doesn't mind my love for detours and joined me in the search for this guy. It was only a few moments before we had the cache in hand. After signing the log and replacing the cache we were off to the next one. Thanks for the fun hide and for your contribution to a great day of caching.
