Snowshoe Cache Tree is located in an area where snowshoes may be needed in winter (I hope as I like to place caches where snowshoes are needed, see Snowshoe Cache and Snowshoe Cache Too). The gate to the road will be closed in September somtime. Then the access will be on foot and hopefully with snowshoes if there is enough snow. The cache is at an elevation of well over 10,000 feet, so please be aware of your own abilities at this altitude.
The Cache is located Northwest of Fairplay Co. Take Highway CO 9 west from Highway 285 toward Breckenridge. Go to 4th Street in Fairplay and turn right. Go to T and turn left to National Forest Beaver Creek. Follow Beaver Creek Rd until you see a sign National Forest Access Beaver Creek, turn right. After a short distance there is a gate, it will be closed usually in September somtime depending on the weather. Follow the road it is now FS659, at .6 mile there will be a Y in the road, stay to the right. This is now FS655, at about 1.6 miles from gate you will be close to the cache. Follow your GPS.The Cache is in an ammo box. Please hide the cache better than you found it.
