A nice little hike form one lake to another will get you to this cache. Or you can take your jeep around on a trail to get to it from a different angle

This cache is a small square tin and has been named after a raccoon that fell out of my parents tree as a cub and lost an eye. He was named Kit and has been rehabilitated. The Cache itself should be fairly easy to get to but a little walking is involved.

Doing some caching and 4 wheeling on a great Memorial Day weekend! TFTC

Have been in the processes of attempting to log every single cache on the western half of Grand Mesa for some time. Logged "Where the Bear Goes in the Woods" some months ago but did not have an ATV at the time so were thinking of from the general area "Easterly" of the highway westward.

Since then was loaned the use of an ATV for the summer AND we decided to log Leon Peak for our 700th cache so now are attempting ALL caches on Grand Mesa. With what we have found over the last two weekends (these logs - some a bit late) we still have 5 to go. Of those 5, one was just replaced and is now a sure thing, 3 we have DNFed and think 2 of them are gone (not found in over 2 yrs) and have a hint on the 3rd, that leave only one other way up in the NE to get.

Not sure we will make it before the snow flies but with the ATV we sure have been having fun seeing the expanse of back country off road GRAND Mesa! We want to thank all the Geocachers who have set so many in far flung places that we have had to go to and learned so much of the history of the mesa in the process - not to mention having set several dozen of our own while doing it! At the same time - with the support of the visitor center rangers - we have set several Earthcaches and will be holding an International Earthcache Day Event at Land of Lakes Overlook (Island Lake) on the 12th and have been in a frenzy getting ready for that and several 5k run routes!.

Had planned to use ATV to get the 4 caches around Neversweat and Big Meadows Reservoirs last week (27th) but had elderly family with us that FREAKED at the sight of the last bit of road going out to Broken Down Limbs (still in the truck) so we canceled that and any thought of using the ATV for some of the others and headed for pavement! Fast forward to this weekend, unloaded ATV at Bonham, grabbed "Buttons" along the ATV trail headed to Big Meadows and then Neversweat and after logging ALL FOUR (YEAH!) took the main road back in 1/4th the time!

We kind of enjoyed this one! Had to wander around a bit to find a path that wasn't either UP or BUSHWACK but made it to area of GZ fairly quickly. I was still showing 35' to GZ when I glanced that direction and spotted not just the hide, but the actual cache! from that distance! Obviously the "hide" had not been properly put back in place and some how the cache had dropped over and out of its "residence" and was laying out in the open!

2noodles sure does know how to pack a cache! We had fun with all of his/her caches and looking at the neat SWAG! Took a little and left a little from each but from this one we took a LOT (by volume) as there was this cute container with soil and chives seeds in it that took up 2/3 the space of the cache! Left about 5 SWAGs to compensate for weight! Neat thing is that we live in an RV and the Ms. keeps pots of herbs growing inside and out year round for cooking but her chives did not take this summer and been without! Potted these that evening but not sure they will take as seeds are dated '11, will see, nothing yet!

Set cache back in place, replaced the "hide", coords are dead on, easy find. TFTC SL Visited TBs

p.s. GETS A FAV! for the chives, for all the neat SWAG, for a really cool hide, and we have a son named KIT! (short for Kristopher)
