Takes more than an hour

My girls and are are quite adventurous and we love hiking and geochaching!! Enjoy!
This cache is a square tin packed pull! From toys to books to read. From the road it will take about 20 minutes or so to walk up to it. There are many piles of trees that can be seen, hence the name, broken down limbs. I am assuming from a clearing of the trash limbs from taking the good ones. In any case, this a great walk up a hill side.

Doing some caching and 4 wheeling on a great Memorial Day weekend! TFTC

Have been in the processes of attempting to log every single cache on the western half of Grand Mesa for some time. Logged "Where the Bear Goes in the Woods" some months ago but did not have an ATV at the time so were thinking of from the general area "Easterly" of the highway westward.

Since then was loaned the use of an ATV for the summer AND we decided to log Leon Peak for our 700th cache so now are attempting ALL caches on Grand Mesa. With what we have found over the last two weekends (these logs - some a bit late) we still have 5 to go. Of those 5, one was just replaced and is now a sure thing, 3 we have DNFed and think 2 of them are gone (not found in over 2 yrs) and have a hint on the 3rd, that leave only one other way up in the NE to get.

Not sure we will make it before the snow flies but with the ATV we sure have been having fun seeing the expanse of back country off road GRAND Mesa! We want to thank all the Geocachers who have set so many in far flung places that we have had to go to and learned so much of the history of the mesa in the process - not to mention having set several dozen of our own while doing it! At the same time - with the support of the visitor center rangers - we have set several Earthcaches and will be holding an International Earthcache Day Event at Land of Lakes Overlook (Island Lake) on the 12th and have been in a frenzy getting ready for that and several 5k run routes!

We actually came near to the trail head location of this cache the previous weekend with the intent of finding it. We had elderly family with us that had never been on a 4 wheel drive road before and we did not realize it! We hit the last qtr mile rocky portion of the road (which was not really even 4x4 rd yet) and they FREAKED! Had also planned to put each of them on the ATV and go for some of the more serious stuff but by this time the only thing they could think of was: "popped" tires, stuck in the mud, rolled over in the ditch, etc and wanted to hit the pavement ASAP! SO . . . . Fast Forward one week later - After offloading the ATV at Bonham lake and grabbing Bonham Button on the way over, we are BACK! Managed to find ALL FOUR caches (YEAH!) around these lakes and took main road back to Bonham rather than ATV trail in 1/4 the time!

After nice walk (HIKE!) in the woods we were beginning to despair of finding this one! With HUNDREDS of "broken down limbs" to investigate, GPS was JUMPING all over the place when all the sudden the CACHE jumped out at ME! COULDN'T MISS IT! WOW! IN YOUR FACE! TFTC SL Visited TBS

Out showing off Grand Mesa's colors to visiting family. Have been wanting to log the 4-5 caches in this area for some time as a part of our quest to log all Grand Mesa caches from Leon Peak westward so decided to cache two birds with one stone.

Having toured the visitors center, Lands End observatory, FTF of Scenic Waterfall and set two more caches in our IACG series, we arrived in this area to eat a late lunch, get out the ATV and grab some caches. An "end of the line turn around" within 300 yds of this one convinced us that we could not take our aged parents nor the ATV over the terrain so have put it off for a couple of weeks.

Wanted to peg some TBs up here to the beautiful neck of the woods before sending them off, thus the log. We WILL be back ready to tackle this just like we did Leon peak, Indian Point, Alkali basin, Doughspoon lake - THE HARD WAY - on foot!
