#7 The Last Stage

The Last Stage is the nineteenth and final chapter of J.R.R Tolkien's The Hobbit.  Gandalf and Bilbo arrive in The Shire and Bilbo returns to Bag End in Hobbiton. He finds an auction going on, but soon Bilbo returns to his quiet life and takes to writing poetry and occasionally visiting Elves. He begins writing his memories.

With the single digit obtained by finding the first six caches in the series, find this cache that is between #6 and the listed parking coordinates.  Look for a hobbit-sized plastic ammo can -- smaller than the typical ammo can.

THANKS for finding our geocaches, and we hope you enjoyed this little adventure !

Congratulations to R&B CO and hartsdale for being co-FTF !

Out for a short ride today and decided to let this series guide my path. Great theme! Nice adventure between storms today. TFTC!

11:39 AM Today we stopped at the farmer's market, as is our custom. We ran into our friends from Carroll Lakes, who had children and grandchildren in tow. We had a little field lab about geocaching at Memorial Park and bid the kids safe travel back to Dallas.

Then we came to Lovell Gulch to do an easier hike after a hard day yesterday. I still find it hard to believe that this series came out right around the time I finished reading The Hobbit. I think I read it 15-20 years ago, but I never read The Lord Of The Rings "trilogy." (I'm reading The Fellowship of the Ring right now and have completed "Book 1" of 2, so it really could be viewed as more than a trilogy...) So I read the "prequel" to get ready for TLOTR.

I signed the log.

Thank you, 3 Williams Kidz, for the geocache and for another great series. I am adding a favorite point.

You crack me up. Or maybe it is me. I decided awhile back to finally read the Lord of the Rings. I found a used set of The Hobbit (Prequel) and TLOTR trilogy (actually sub-divided by Tolkien into multiple books per book) in paperback. But then I found it was easier to check out the book from the Dallas Public Library in Kindle edition and read it on a tablet. (No reading light to disturb the esposa at night.)

Anyway, I finished The Hobbit last month and just completed Book 1 of 2 in The Fellowship of The Ring. Tonight as a look at Woodland Park area caches in advance of our arrival in about 11 days, I notice this series. Well, I look forward to it. Thanks.

Took me a little while to find this one. Lots of downed trees. Just have to find the right ones to find the Final cache. Drum roll. Got close to GZ and then realized what I was looking at and sat down and was happy this was over. I climbed the last plateau and accomplished my goal. It didn't matter that I didn't get 1st, 2nd or 3rd place. It mattered that I am getting older and proved to myself that I can still do what I love to do. Another great series by the 3Williams Kidz. Thanks Glenn. Gets a FAV.

I’d forgotten to get the clue from #1 but there are only so many possibilities. We had a little trouble at the final location and that had me wondering whether we had the right solution. But it turned out perfectly in the end! Estes01 found it quite a ways from where I’d been looking. Great series - definite favorite - thanks!!

TFTC I needed help on this one. My coordinates took me to what appeared to be the right place based on the hint, but a long search turned up nothing. I eventually phoned a friend for some help and quickly found it. I moved south about 125 feet to find the cache. Then my phone showed I was within 25 feet.

I then couldn’t find my walking stick so I went back to 3 previous caches with no joy. I finally went back to the final location and eventually found it. It was feeling like an episode of the Keystone cops before I got back to my geomobile. It was a beautiful morning for a walk in the forest. Thanks for a fun series. SLTNLN

Finally finished! It turns out that we needed that note that the first finders left behind, because we forgot to take a picture of the code from # 5 (D'oh). Sure saved us a return trip. We loved this series and it brought back memories. It seems that there used to be caches at the identical (or very similar) spots?! We exchanged one trackable for a different one. Giving a favorite point. Thank you very much!
