Traveling from Gunnison to Gallup taking the scenic route, targeting new counties, Delorme pages, highly favored and birthday caches...we were slowed by the highway resurfacing traffic, but was able to make the find...TFTC!

Found during our vacation in the USA. We always wanted to visit American Southwest, and now that dream has become true :)

Our journey started in Los Angeles and then we went to San Diego were doing some caches by the way. In fact, Geocaching were not our main goal on that trip, but "by the way" meant several caches a day, virtuals mainly. Thanks to that we had a great opportunity to visit places not always as a tourists, but sometimes "as a locals" :D

Next day we visited impressive USS Midway and beautiful La Jolla. Day after, we gone east - through Joshua Tree NP and Route 66 to nature's masterpiece - great Grand Canyon, where we spent couple another days. Then we went to Page, Arizona to see Horseshoe Bend and Antelope Canyon. After these we gone further east to Monument Valley and Four Corners. Next days we visited beautiful and friendly Utah. Especially we loved Arches and Canyonlands National Parks, Scenic Byway 12, Bryce Canyon and Zion. Then we reached Las Vegas. We prefer nature rather than big cities, but it's “Vegas” - you should see it at least once in a lifetime ;). Hoover Dam and its history were really impressive to us.

The time has come to return to California. Through Death Valley, Sequoia and Yosemite National Parks, Mono Lake and Bodie Ghost Town we arrived to Napa Valley for some break and wine tasting. Then we went to beautiful San Francisco: walked Fisherman's Wharf, met other cachers (thanks for coming to our event), saw Golden Gate Bridge and took tour to Alcatraz.

Next we visited Silicon Valley, went for some T5s to Hollister Hills and took California State Route 1 to go south. Visited Monterey, Carmel-by-the-Sea, Big Sur. We also spend couple days in Santa Barbara County, known from “Sideways” movie - one of our favourite. We were visiting wineries, tasting wines, meeting nice people there.

Then we returned to Los Angeles, where our journey started and where we finished. We spend some days there, visiting Santa Monica, Venice Beach, Hollywood, Beverly Hills and Downtown. One day we dedicated for geocaching only and went to Palm Springs. We made there great T5s trail and some virtuals.

During our travel we found a lot of great traditional caches and also virtuals, which are quite rare in our country. To all Owners of caches we found, thanking for creating and maintaining, we would like to say: Thanks hugely! Great job! TFTC! :D
